Title: Pocklington miscarriage of justice?
Post by: Dark Arts Advocate on March 29, 2019, 07:49:27 PM
Whilst it is still in their hands, I do feel that the Pocklington club would be justified if they had a massive chip on their shoulder. The unfair and ridiculous decision to carry over a 5 point penalty deduction from last season to this , could have a disproportionate impact on them. They should be relatively safe on 56 points but the Blazers justifying their free tickets and lunches, have left them in danger of a second consecutive relegation.
With no disrespect intended to our West Leeds colleagues, I hope they can secure a 5 point win tomorrow.
Hopefully York will help them by beating Brid, so the crass decision does not impact on their season.

I found the decision very puzzling and against the spirit of amateur sport ....
Obviously if it had been semi-professional York it would have been a difficult matter!

So what would have been the sanction against a full time professional side like Scarborough?

We wouldn't have made the mistake!

Looks like the disproportionate aspect is coming home to roost!
