I think the possible start dates are 1st September...1st November and 1st January.

Let's hope a second wave doesn't prevent a 1st November start...I think 1st September highly unlikely bordering on impossible.

Thanks - I would gladly Take 1st November now to avoid any confusion/focus

I think a second wave ( or the Dominic Scummings Tsunami as it will be known) is inevitable given that nobody gives a toss about social distancing any more and we have a government relying on "common sense" as its primary guidance measure.

January for me as much as it pains me to say it.I actually will be impressed if it’s January at the earliest.

Too many low IQ people doing as they please.

January at best for me. But by then winter infection rates could be up so possible/likely no rugby TIL September 2021.

I’ll go September then. With a double on there not being any ‘second wave’.

January start

The main issue will be limited car sharing and coaches being almost impossible to use.

Anyone who thinks we're playing Rugby in September 2020 needs their heads checking.

January on a reduced fixture list possible

My bet however is September 2021.

I may be missing something but it's fairly obvious to me that as long as there is ANY social distancing recommended we will not even be able to discuss starting.  Therefore I agree with Sept 2021.
Goodness knows how many clubs will fail to survive despite, so far, excellant government support.

The dates are
1 . 10 th October
2.  28 th November
3.  6  th February

Going to be a whole new ball game in survival for some clubs if no rugby till next year or even November.
There is no way “most clubs”can contemplate hiring out their facilities for private parties and comply with social distancing etc.
With no income from rugby and most of their overheads back in place when they reopen going to be a struggle
to survive.
RFU should have with waited until now to offer grants and loans to clubs not the first 3 months when they did.
Most clubs had sufficient funds to survive the first 3 months It’s when reality bites and there is no income from rugby or room hire that clubs will struggle.
No doubt there is little or nothing left in that pot now.

But surely offering the same money now or 3 months ago still amounts to offering the same money so it is irrelevant when it actually was offered? Unless you have an account with Banco Evaporato?

I’ll go September then. With a double on there not being any ‘second wave’.

As the earliest would be October 10th, I’ll revise the September wager !

Any clubs fancy playing 7’s in a Conference format?
‘ In the short term it is likely that the format of rugby the community game is able to play will be a modified version, not the full 15 a side game.’
