Good game between Pythons and Vandals. We were dominant in the first half and probably should have been out of sight by half time. Vandals fought back well in the 2nd half and made a real game of it, we had to work really hard for the bonus point.

A note about the referee today, I believe it was his 1st game at this level after stepping up and I thought he did a cracking job. People are quick to pile in on refs so credit where it’s due.

We’ll finally made the small pilgrimage to Knotts and must say Sheff meds put up a good fight in first half with the wind. They played off knots poor discipline. The knots lad (don’t know his name think I heard it as Shaun bee) got yellow in 1st half for a late tackle, he then got straight red for fighting. Knots dominated the 2nd half after going down to 14 men and Played full 2nd half a man down. The Impenetrable knots defence held and apart from Conceding a late 2nd try on the final whistle knots was deserved winners today,  Bev was outstanding and played every position in the pack from what I could see. Good win against a tough meds side who didn’t stop coming!!

A good game at Otley yesterday. Two very well disciplined teams who set out to play rugby from the off. A good buzz around the club with the new coaching regime who celebrated everything from good defence to the opening of a crisp packet. Castleford actually stuck to the game plan for the second time this season and the result highlighted what can be done if everyone buys into their respective positions.

Thank you to everyone at OO`s for their hospitality, a good set of lads on the field as well.

Enjoyed the game v Hemsworth at the weekend.  Haven't played them in well over 10 years, one or two faces I remember.  They started way stronger than us - took complete control in the opening exchanges.  Couple of handy back rowers and a 12 and 14 who were hard to put down at times.  They tackled really well early on a gained some some turnovers from strong D. They had some big lads up front who ran out of steam after 20/30 minutes and from then on we pulled away.  Hems had a resurgence of life in the final 10/15 minutes and pressured our line. Hemsworth could get a few surprise results in my opinion if they can get some consistency.

Unfortunately, I was away again this weekend Pommie ya little tart so can't comment, but I'm sure you can make you're own mind up on how we played. Really roughed the young lads up took their pocket money and made them all walk home with their pants on their heads.

Pomfresian. Decent game from both teams to be fair. Usual physicality from us in defence. And a very unusual rugby union display in attack and at the breakdown.
The referee was fantastic and let the game flow which was a refreshing change.

1st half was close enough, we went down to 14 men after about 25 minutes. But every lad on that field stepped up.

2nd half different story. The students couldn’t break our defence and we were just to big and strong for them in the end. But they didn’t stop coming for the full 80, fair play to them.

Good to have you back Bez, we have missed you on the forum pal.

Beach what could be more interesting than watching a good old fashioned 1960`s style of rugger down at Knots!
