Sandal 27 Pontefract 5

Didn’t play myself but that’s a good win and we play each other again next week so expect Ponte to come out all guns blazing

Scarborough Vikings 17-17 Bridlington 2nds, very even game on a very cold windy day at Silver Royd, not a classic, as you’d expect, given the conditions, both teams giving their all, and a fair result. Very well reffed (sorry don’t know his name) who stopped any potential handbags and was clear, fair & consistent throughout.
As an aside, I know it’s a local derby but, around 200 people watching this merit league game today ...

Thornensians 2’s 0 v 54 Scunthorpe 2’s
Played today n really enjoyed it even though we got hammered in every department! We competed n tried all game but their gameplay rucks n off loads we’re too much for us, it wa excellent n wouldn’t be out of place in Yorkshire 2, we had our spells on their line but couldn’t get over, good set of lads n we move on to next week! Ref was good, sporting a black eye which he tells me was from playing not reffing! Also I’m in bits

Wath 2xv 24 : 5 Dinnington 2xv.

Closer game than score suggests, Wath only made it safe in last 10 minutes. Good to be back playing after break, but  very sticky pitch suited a forwards game.

I thought Wath always got a dent turnout for merit games but around 200!! That’s a great effort!!

Sheffield 2s played Harrogate Georgians at home in the YMP

We won 19-5.

Not much to say, Harrogate were disrupted by injuries to players all game. We made lots of errors forced and unforced.
I think we had the majority of possession but were a bit disjointed as probably most teams were after a long lay off(6 weeks sine our last game),

Morley this week away.
