Lyndsey at County office will e mail a list of current fixture secretaries to you.

I can see a few emails heading towards the County Office!

It would be of value to all clubs if YRFU could put the contact details of both Fixture Secretaries and Club Secretaries on their new web site.

Full letter

Dear Club
Following the communication sent on 16 April 2019 to Chairs, Honorary Secretaries and Honorary Treasurers of Constituent Bodies and Clubs outlining the 2019-20 business plan position, please find below detail relating to the above:
Travel Funding
The communication on 16th April highlighted that total travel and accommodation funding for onshore and offshore league and cup travel for adult male and female teams will be reduced in 2019/20 by approximately a third (from £1.55m to £1.05m). The Community Game Board (CGB) prioritised the preservation of current onshore travel funding levels to male teams at Level 7 and below, and female teams at National Challenge 1 and below. Preservation of current funding levels to onshore teams who travel to the Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Isle of Wight for offshore matches, is also prioritised with some increased contributions required from offshore clubs.
The above position means that in season 2019-20 there will be approximately a 60% reduction in league travel funding for male teams at Level 6 and women’s teams at Championship 1 and 2, this will be implemented by a 60% reduction in payments at each mileage band.
2019-20 Travel funding reductions
Payments will be available for RFU adult (men and women) league competitions for round trip travel distances, and for accommodation costs in excess of 450 miles, and will be paid according to the following schedule:
Mileage  Amount                                         Mileage Amount
150 +     £132                                                 450 +        £396
200 +    £165                                                 500+         £440
250 +    £198                                                 600 +        £462
300 +    £231                                                 700 +        £484
350 +    £264                                                 800 +        £506
400 +    £352                                                 900 +        £528
Accommodation 450-699 miles: £230
Accommodation 700+ miles: £460

The final actual mileage and funding calculations for each club will need to be completed by the Divisional Organising Committees (for male teams) and by the RFU centrally (for women’s teams) following confirmation of promotion and relegation, and development of new mileage documents aligning to the above schedule. We will aim to complete this in advance of prior years.
A separate mileage schedule will apply for Cup rugby where relevant and a separate communication will follow.
If you require any further information, or have any questions, please contact me via the details below, or speak to a member of the RFU Competitions team.

If we are still referring to North 1 East, then Kirkby Lonsdale are unlikely to be level-transferred to N1E as they are in North Premier.

This was mentioned earlier by Pristine Shorts

Yorkshire 1 / Re: Otley points deduction

Not sure if it is relevant but Doncaster Phoenix were sanctioned by Yorkshire RFU and Otley were sanctioned by the RFU.

It is rare for any two cases to be exactly the same.

Otley was given credit for declaring the matter to the RFU and for taking prompt action to ensure it did not happen in the future.

It is not possible to tell from the Yorkshire RFU web site if those same circumstances prevailed with DP.

I'm considering stopping guests from viewing the board to encourage more people to sign up and contribute.

These are two separate objectives.
Registering must be done before contributing, but being registered does not mean the person will contribute.
Out of interest, what proportion of registered users make 1 or more contribution per day or per week?

I appreciate your concern, but think your proposed solution may drive away potential contributors.

You/we need guests to view as a proportion on of them will move on to be contributors.

Stopping guests viewing is a bit like saying you can only go into a shop if you promise to buy.
Don't think it will solve the problem, but cannot offer a better one.

So - go ahead, see what happens and adjust accordingly.

B&B pull out of Ilkley away match *shock horror* - can’t raise a front row to take on the might of the Ilkley pack. Yeah, right.

Ilkley just blobbed on Gate, so Yorkshire cup semis all with teams that have yet to play in the cup.

Any comment on why Ilkley pulled out and how it differs from B&B's decision in November?

If you are from a West Yorkshire side dissent is normally 4 weeks minimum.

I think there has been only 1 case before YRFU Disciplinary this season. This received 1 week's ban.

Oliver   Rob      Crossleyans   05/01/2019   Dissent   LE 9.28   N Parsonage   1 week

2 Yellow cards - 9 cases this season
"Sending off sufficient" for 7 and 1 week ban for the other 2 cases.

First time I have seen the map.

Very impressive.

Reference the debate:-

From a personal point of view, I have always enjoyed the travel.
I saw it as part of the "rugby experience".
If it's Saturday, it's Rugby.
Even if it means setting off at 9.00am and getting back at midnight.

By improving the quality of the team, it meant having to broaden the catchment area to play equivalent teams.
It was just understood the better the team got, the more travel there HAD to be.

Whatever faults you may think the forum has...it's is still the envy of rugby followers access the country.

We are lucky to have it so don't be too quick to want to kill it off!

I agree.

Although I do not post a great deal and dislike the occasional trolling and drunken rambling, I generally enjoy reading the posts on the web site.

I think we owe a debt of gratitude to the new group of people who took over the funding of the web site and the people who help run the web site.

Keep up the good work.

I am sure you will listen to any constructive criticism and make improvements you feel necessary.

I think they can only ask you to change the ko time.

The normal regulation is that ko are 2.15 Nov - Feb and 3pm for the other months.
To change, both clubs have to agree.

However, I think clubs with RFU artificial pitches get special permission to kick off early.

North One / Max Blakely - Cleckheaton

Sad news from the Cleckheaton web site.

It is with the deepest sadness that we have to report the passing today of Cleckheaton player Max Blakely

Max was playing summer rugby league for local club Birkenshaw when he felt unwell. He collapsed moments later and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he was unable to be revived
Max was a club stalwart and we are devastated. Sleep tight Max you will be sorely missed

Condolences to his family and friends.
