Yorkshire 2 / Fantasy League Week 12 Predictions
« on: November 28, 2022, 03:59:56 PM »
Baildon v Barnsley
Bramley Phoenix v Yarnbury
Ripon v Northallerton
Wath Upon Dearne v North Ribblesdale
Wensleydale v Leeds Corinthians
Wheatley Hills v Harrogate Pythons

Cash Cows v who: Can't see the team formerly known as Barnsley making the journey up the Mountain, so another blob - HWO

Big Apples v Planespotters: Tough day at the office for Yawno, afraid to score tries in case of knee drops and can't get near to the swinging 10 to calm his game down: Phoenix - 7

Young Farmers v Smoggies: Back home safely after a lesson in match management in Miggie and no ill effects from the post-match curry. Rugrats finding home form against Teesside neighbours - Ripon + 7

Salad Dodgers v Not Wharfedale 3rds: So much love and respect coming from the visitors won't lull the pie men into softening up. Woff - 7

Hairdale v Saints: Back down to earth with a bump, Saints penalty count will be punished more thoroughly here. 'Dale + 7

No Hills v Hoorays: Hopefully looking over their shoulders to check on the Bentleys in the car park won't be too much of a distraction to make it 11 wins on the bounce for the visitors - 'Gate + 7

Cheers Ribbex, definitely getting back towards my comfort zone and erm, looking over my shoulder, like my club. Love it!

Think it's because Yarnbury are only allowed specific time slots to play matches.

£aildon £ad £oys v Wheatos: Cold comfort indeed on the mount and Donnie's finest suffering from altitude sickness. £aildon + 7

Barnless v Hairdale: Another step down the slippery slope for the hosts and 'dale to win by a bucket full, with barely a hair out of place. 'Dale + 7

Toffs v Woffs: Despite the heavy mob looking to stuff it up their jumper, Hooray Henrys, will chuck it about as much as they can. Pythons - 7

Saints v Young Farmers: Hear that long life jelly and trifle will be on the post match menu in case the rugrats don't stick around. Think they will do though. Ripon - 7

Best dale v Big Apple: Hosts to stun the visitors with kindness and politeness, to the extent of letting them score first and keep the lead. Bramley + 7

Planespotters v Smoggies: If Teessiders manage to kick off at 2.30 - half hour ahead of the hosts, they may get enough points on the board to get a decent lead. Otherwise, Yawno +7

Is it me, or is this site in need of resuscitation? Just quiet, or broken - can anyone see or post anything new?

Fancy Pythons for a bounce up and down and Baildon for a second place promotion and stay up.

Not digging this "Novo" format, a tad slow and too bright colours for my liking.

Big Apple v Sinners: With more tattoos than teeth collectively, these two teams will slug it out manfully for 30 minutes or so before someone throws a ball on the pitch. Bramley won't crumble, or turnover though. Bramley +7

Smoggies v Saints: Trainspotters making the incredible journey to leap off the East Coast Mainline express as it doesn't stop at Northallerton. Smoggies happy as pigs in their mud. North (allerton) -7

Toddlers v Toffs: Home safeguarding team on red alert to make sure the Rugrats don't come to any harm as the Harrogate juggernaut lumbers on. Could be Python's first upset in a while. Ripon - 7

Pie Men v Brawnless: Battle of South Yorkshire will be pretty one sided, unless Barno can smuggle some of their high flying ladies into the squad. Woff +7

Wotsits v £ad £oyz: With landscape in their favour, the "hairs apparent" for Y1 contention will slow the bad boys down a treat. W'dale -7

Wheatos v Yawnos: A disappointingly tedious non-performance. Nothing to see here, move along please. Hills +7

For what it's worth and coming from a club that has struggled for three or four years to field more than one team, an increase in replacements would put too big a strain on less "well blessed" clubs. Plus, if the potion were to have at least three was offered, I wouldn't like to see inequity creeping in, with one team having five replacements and the other only two. A case for levelling down?

Not bad with my predictions this week and results pretty much going with form across the board. A bit of a slippery event in the gloom and rain at Barnsley, where they never sat down or back, apart from in the second half scrums. The try count of 8 to 3 in Ripon's favour doesn't do justice to Barno's spirit. A good platform up front and some exciting stuff in the backs, saw Ripon play more like the way they want to. Wish Barnsley all the best for the rest of the season and hope they can hang on to enough players to stay in contention.

Bail Out v Salad Dodgers: Unstoppable mercenaries cashing in on a home crowd bonus. Baildon +7

Brawno v Young Farmers: Careful what I say here, Rugrats back on the road to their favourite sandpit. Hopefully they don't forget their buckets and spades. Ripon +7

Hoorahs v Big Apple: Cancelling usual order from Fortnum & Masons for post-match soiree and substituting a few gallons of snakebite and pork scratchings from Yate's Wine Lodge for the occasion. Fine dining it won't be, but another Y1 defining moment for the toffs. Pythons +7

Saints v Smoggies: No favours for the Teessiders here, drubbed on the pitch, two year old chilli for tea and wheels nicked off bus. Corinthians -7

Hills v Dales: Another Y1 wannabee performance from the "hairs" apparent. Home come back kids not got enough here. 'Dale -7

Planespotters v Trainspotters: Best behaved supporters will politely keep off the (fake) grass, which will magic up a resurgence for the hosts. Yarnbury +7

Came off second best to a well drilled and very fit £aildon side 20- 39 yesterday after trying to play too much Rugby when the conditions warranted a steadier approach. A decent set piece and great discipline this week, just a few too many loose balls and inability to react to the sharper visitor counters. £aildon a side going places if the coach and cash hold out.

That's sad, feel for Barnsley.

Big Apple v Brawnless: After an early season appletize like fizz, BP to slog it out in another bottom of the table challenge that might see both sides playing their worst and competing for relegation to get out of the misery that is Y2 for them. Bramley - 7

Trainspotters v Fare Dodgers: The polite welcome in the hillside too much for the Miggie Massive to deal with and without WWW to interpret for them, could be a recipe for some harmless misunderstandings. Talking of recipes, is there any of that chilli left? North Ribb - 7

Smoggies v Toffies: Will the Hooray Henrys lower themselves to take the East Coast Mainline to Northallerton and call in a fleet of taxis to hurry them with motorcade to Brompton Lodge, or will the Roller cavalcade from Starbeck cause a stir more befitting of Y1 destined 'Gate? Pythons + 7

Young Farmers v Ca$h Cow$: Rugrats safely back from Donnie without any safeguarding issues and within parental sight and control. Also, no upsetting Ref sorted in advance with apple in changing room before game. No bribery needed here though, local kids back on form now. Ripon - 7

Pie Men v Wheatos: Assuming the visitors don't take as long to get into this game as their last one and become a pre-dinner snack, Donnie's finest to make a meal of the tiny pitch. Hills - 7

Wotsits v Planespotters: No AGP advantage, no aerial distractions and no more dramatic wins like last week. Good honest farming stock and home-cut hair to win the day here. Wensleydale - 7

A bit of a bog roll biter towards the end at Wheatos, with the hosts dominating the second half and nearing a dramatic come back, with the lead just denied them in the final seconds. Some interesting decisions saw three yellow cards for Ripon, so might have been more than the 24 - 27 result it finished at, if 15 players had remained on pitch throughout. Wheatos strong in counter-attack and very resilient, so well worthy of their two losing bonus points. Ripon of course delighted with five points on the road.
