Merit Leagues / 04/01/20 Games
« on: January 05, 2020, 12:28:49 PM »
York 7 Scunthorpe 18

York were still on their Christmas break for the first 60 mins 0-18 was a flattering scoreline for York. We defended for nearly 40mins of the first 40

With 20mins to go we started to play our own game and were a couple of referee decisions away from potentially getting at least a bonus point.

Looks like a thought trip away to Sheffield next week looking at the results where  we were possibly unlucky to not get the win last time.

Usually the last 20mins that see Wharfedale turn a very close game into something very different on the scoreline.

10-7 at half time at their place is good, like you say at home and a decent bench you could get the win.

I think Bramley in Y4 charge £2/3

Scarborough so far, are not a patch on the side we had last year (do others agree?).

Even after you got rid of that 5th choice Kiwi??

Skipper hasn't gone back to Harrogate, retired due to injury.

Most of the Fijians are now playing at a National standard and a few lads have been away playing league. Hopefully the end of the league season sees a few key players return for kboro

I’m not sure tipping you to do well classifies as being jealous. I’m also glad to see you setting an example to the clubs that you were playing a couple of seasons ago who are folding.

While the tactic of getting under people’s skin is an opinion based on anyone I speak to who has played you previously. The red card stats will speak for themselves as fact if you care to share them? Even after you lost all of your high tackle yellow cards to Halifax.

Won’t be the last Red card Wibsey receive for a Melee this season, although never seems to do them any harm.

Genuinely could see them only going higher up the leagues so hopefully they let their rugby do the talking instead of tactic 1 being getting under the skin of the opposition. Their team is good enough without it.

Will be surprised if they are not up their come the end of the season with likely 0 home defeats

Terrible times for York, a 1st team that is folding and an unmotivated 2nd team battling for their respective league against national teams 2nds.

Does the travel funding from the RFU apply to 1st teams only or Merit league teams as well?

show pony, I resent being called a fogey, and I didn't see you at Bradford supporting your colleagues, and the way things are going it won't be long before me, daa and dropkicker are getting selected

I am currently managing/coaching the 2nd team on a Saturday as they have been left without a coach for the last few weeks!

Performance of the season Saturday.....

Was it a coincidence?

Don't forget already secured highest 2nd team finish to date under the new coach.

Calling up the 3s in theory is how it should be but it is not that simple. A lot of 3s players at our club anyway are purely social and are there purely for the enjoyment which playing at the 2s standard they do not enjoy and just don't want to play it.

Well let’s hope the the deduction is fair and not for something like a small administrative error.

I have heard that it is for playing a non registered player. Not sure in which game etc.

Have Sheffield folded? When I look it shows them removed from the Table..

If so does that mean York are through?

Knaresbrough v Bramley - Kboro win, expecting a response from a good Bram side. Few players out but few back as well so credit to our depth in squad.
Corinthians  v Wibsey - Home Win. See if Wibsey are back on track with players returning
Thirsk v Burley - Burley win but don't think they will be getting a full 5.
