Yorkshire 1 / Re: NEW signings for 2020/21 Season.

Huddersfield YM have re signed a handy 9,10 & 13. And various others according to their facebook. In regards heath i dont think they will last 2 mins in NE1, a very good league with plenty money floating about...

Yes I agree, Heath have not shown any consistency over the last few years and clearly have not invested enough in their development. The only reason why players from all around Yorkshire are signing for the club for this coming season is because of their amazing after match meals. Nothing to do with the fantastic rugby they have played. Well best of luck to YM, I remember them playing Heath in a pre season game last year, I think Heath won by 40 points I can’t remember. But I hope they will perform better than that this year, they will need to if they want to stay in Yorkshire 1.

He's from Heath so he probably disagrees with anybody wider than your ten seeing the ball.

Completely agree. Top try scorer should be the Penalty try. 😂😂

Enjoyed your views Woody, but intrigued to know  what style of rugby you believe Ponte play and should be playing.

Very strong up front and backs with good skills. But from watching all the videos on YouTube ball retention lets you down. However this could be down to fitness rather than the style of play.

Heath first and second team have gained promotion this year. A fantastic achievement for the club. With more players joining the club next year it would be great to see three teams playing every week.

Well done to Brods,  well deserved promotion. Am I correct in saying that Heath second team will now be in the same league as Brods Seconds?

Old Crocs certainly gave it a good shot this year and I can see them pushing for promotion next season. They are a great group of lads and I hope they stick together. Although i have heard of a few players going elsewhere.

Beverly had a great season and I’m sure they will push for promotion next season.

West Leeds have a great coaching team and will continue to improve.

Bradford Salem have some of the best young talent in the league and if they can retain these players they may do well next season.

Selby are already training hard, this is evident on their twitter page. They had a good year and I think they will continue to improve.

Goole looked exhausted by the end of the season but never lost their spirit. They need some experience to bring on their young players to stay up next season. My advice would be a tight head prop and a centre.

Dinnington are due an influx of youth and perhaps a new scrum half.

Leodensians have Survived in Yorkshire 1 and I think they will build on this next year. The best club I have been to this year. Fantastic atmosphere.

Bridlington will be pleased with their comeback this season, great to see so many players return to help the club. The atmosphere was great at the club this year.

Pontefract would have stayed up anyway in my opinion but I’m sure they are relieved with the outcome. They will struggle again next season if they don’t change their style of rugby.

Keighley have struggled for a couple of seasons and I think they will benefit from the change to Yorkshire 2. I’m sure most in Yorkshire 1 will look forward to having them back up next year.

Hullensians have also struggled for a few seasons, but not for lack of effort. I can see them bouncing back next season if they can keep their squad together.

No promotion or relegation is not a good thing. In particular no relegation. Teams are at the bottom of the league for a reason. They are playing rugby below the level that is required. Teams like Hullensians need a season to rebuild in Yorkshire 2. Just like rishworthians have done. Otherwise they will go through another hard season, which won’t attract players to the club. Also Huddersfield YMCA have had a tough time this year, they need a season to regroup and rebuild. Not another season of getting hammered. I’m sure the RFU will take this into consideration when making their decision. Will this be announced in April?

Regardless of the decision some teams will not be happy. Heath or Brods would have finished top of Yorkshire 1. Consett would have definitely finished top of D&N. Therefore I think it would be good to reward the clubs at the top of the league. Keighley and Percy Park would not be happy about tommyontherailways suggestion, however it does make sense and fair for the majority. I’m assuming other teams in Yorkshire 1 would like to see Heath and Brods move up the league?

Ahhhh that’ll be why we didnt hit the heights of previous trips to Keighley.

Wet and windy but we snuck a draw and go again. Keighley will be pushing hard to stay up if they can replicate that performance each week.

Ok cheers

Early ko at 2 pm at Bradford Salem due to weather forecast .The final score a Win forBridlington .
Bradford Salem 10 Bridlington 18 .Six wins  the trot now for the away side ,well done Bridlington

Bridlington are on fire. They have now got a really good buzz about the club and the players are enjoying their rugby. I know most people will say it’s because they recruited a couple of big samoans from Bees but that is not why they are winning. They have developed as a squad throughout the season and are now playing some good rugby. I don’t see them losing again this season.

Lovely, we always play well when you boys are at Keighley with us.

Sorry we couldn’t make it over as we had to prepare our clubhouse for further flooding from storm Dennis. How was the game?

Will slow Beverley’s speedy backs down to The pace of the Heath pack!

However as someone who has completed the Blubell Trail  event from Heath club, the trail finishes with a river crossing and the water is clean and safe to fall in as I did.

I thought the Heath forwards were really fast? 😂😂 yeah the water isn’t too bad. I regularly wash my clothes in it.

Bradford Salem    vs    Bridlington
Dinnington    vs    Pontefract
Goole    vs    Selby
Heath    vs    Beverley
Hullensians    vs    West Leeds
Keighley    vs    Old Brodleians
Old Crossleyans    vs    Leodiensian

I’m doubting the Heath -Beverley game will be on! Looks horrible and hope it’s not bad!

It should be fine, it goes away just as quick. Heath are used to it by now and have invested a lot of money in protecting the clubhouse.

Is the normal pecking order being re-established?

Been over to Scarborough today, horrible day for fishing.

Brilliant game of rugby played at the old brods yesterday. Brods had to dig deep to score 18 points in the final 15 minutes. The game was a great advert for Halifax's two biggest clubs. Condolences to heath, hopefully when their pitch dries out and they remove the sewage they can bounce back.

I’m sure the pitch is absolutely fine, hard to tell with that river flowing over it 😂😂. Sewage? That river is crystal clear. Apart from the massive storage container smashing into Elland bridge.
