Yorkshire 1 / Predictions 12/11/22

Hullensians V Huddersfield- Hullensians to bounce back from last weeks thrashing with a BP win at home

Keighley V Goole- Game of the season so far, will be close but I think home field advantage will sway this one. Home win but Goole to pick up a LBP

Leos V Dinnington- Leos to settle the ship after a few bad results. Home win.

Old Rish V Salem- Old Rish to carry on their rich vein of form and win at home.

Hegians V Beverley- Only away win of the week I reckon.

W Leeds V Wetherby- Close game, I think home advantage will sway this one but could go either way.

Inspired by polls elsewhere and as we are approaching the halfway stage, please vote for your two relegation candidates out of the bottom 5.

Has to take a very partisan view of Huddersfield's performances so far this season to think they could come within ten points of Goole, let alone secure a draw...

Having seen both teams play this season, I wouldn't call the Hudds scrum dominant, good but not dominant. Goole on the other hand have class from 1-15 and I reckon will walk away with all 5 points.

Yorkshire 1 / Predictions Week 8
« on: October 24, 2022, 03:02:06 PM »
No prediction thread last week so thought I would start on early. Looks like an interesting if maybe predictable round this week.

Huddersfield V Goole- Can only see one result here, Goole BP win.

Hullensians V Dinnington- Dinnington don't travel well so can see Hullensians carrying on their rich vein of form and securing a BP win.

Keighley V Salem - Keighley should have to much at home for Salem. Salem's new imports might deliver them a loosing bonus point but at what cost...

Leos V Beverly - Surprising loss for Leos last week, I reckon they will bounce back at home against Beverly who have been all over the shop so far this season.

Old Rish V West Leeds- Interesting game this, have West turned a corner or was last weeks win just a blip in the pan. Think Rish might be to much of an ask at home but wouldn't be surprised if the result goes either way.

Roundhegians V Wetherby - Could be a big result come the end of the season for either team, reckon with the home advantage this might be the week that they get their first win.

Yorkshire 1 / Week 5 Predictions/ Round Up
« on: September 29, 2022, 09:30:50 AM »
Beverly V Huddersfield- Bev will want to bounce back from last week. Should be a 5 point home win.

Salem V Goole- Tough test for Salem, think Goole will travel well. Away bonus point win.

Rish V Leos- Leos have had a great start to the season, can see this good form carrying them to a win away from home. LBP for Rish.

Hegians V Keighley- Keighly should have to much for Hegians.

West Leeds V Hullensians- Hullensians to continue to pile on the misery at West Leeds. West Leeds to pick up a LBP.

Wetherby V Dinnington- Which Dinnington side will turn up? Who knows. Wetherby to capitalise on home advantage.

Does anyone know what has happened to West Leeds? From early season favourites to rock bottom going into week 5...

Yorkshire 1 / Week 3
« on: September 16, 2022, 02:35:11 PM »
Beverly V Dinnington- HBP win- can't see Bev loosing here.

Leos V Keighley- Will be an interesting test to gauge Keighley against Y1 opponents. Think Leos will have to much at home, especially now students are back

Rish V Hullensians- Rish HBP win- Think Rish might be early season favourites so can't see them being undone at home.

Roundhegians V Huddersfield - Interesting game, are Roundhegians as bad as last weeks score line suggests. I think not Home Win, Away LBP.

West Leeds V Goole - Could go either way- lots on the line for the home team. Away win- home LBP.

Wetherby V Salem - Salem will want to bounce back from last week and I think they will. Away win no BP.

Yorkshire 1 / Week 2 Predictions/Reactions

Some surprising and some not so surprising results in round one, think we will get a clearer picture of the results in round 2.

Salem V Beverley - Are Salem as good as their week one result? I think they might be with the rumours of cash flying around... Beverley's win against Wetherby sounded unconvincing so I am going for a HBW.

Dinnington V W.Leeds- Are W.Leeds as bad as their week one result? Not sure and I think Dinnington might have to much for them at home. However, wouldn't be surprised either way. Home Win- Away LBP

Goole V Roundhegians- Goole will be hurting after last weeks narrow loss, think this might end up as a cricket score. HBW

Huddersfield V Old Rish- Think this might end up being the only away win of the round with Old Rish looking to have started well. Away win with a BP.

Hullensians V Leos - Uncertain with this one, therefore I will go with Home advantage. Despite the win last week Leos aren't normally up to scratch so early on in the season.

Keighley V Wetherby - Going of last seasons form book, this will be a home win.

Yorkshire 1 / Week 1 predictions
« on: August 30, 2022, 09:15:16 AM »
With the season fast approaching lets get the predictions going early.

Keighley V Hullensians- Two Y2 sides, so the game will offer little in indication for either teams fortunes. Keighley to win based on last seasons form and their apparent confidence going into the season. Home BP win

Leos V Huddersfield- Will be interested to see how the renamed Huddersfield go this year, having finished the season on a 80+ point drubbing, will it be more of the same or will the threat of relegation spurred them onto splash some cash. Leos likely to continue to be a solid mid table team, Home advantage to be key with Leos taking the win.

Old Rish V Goole- Game of the day. With Old Rish seeming to have recruited well and Goole the form team at the end of last season, could be a significant game come the end of the season. Think home advantage will be significant early doors- Old Rish to win but Goole to get LBP.

Roundhegians V Dinnington- Dinnington should have to much for Roundhegians, but again early doors so wouldn't be surprised if the result went either way. Away win- No BP

West Leeds V Salem- West Leeds should have to much class for Salem at home, will be interesting to see if Salem have retained the players they picked up at the end of last season. Home BP win.

Wetherby V Beverly - Think Bev will have to much for newly promoted Wetherby, both teams will have big packs but Bev should have to much quality in the backline. Away BP win.

Yorkshire 1 / Re: Who is going to win the league?

Can't believe Keighley are in second, they surely can't be expected to make the step up that well? Sides will be significantly larger and better drilled than what they faced in Yorkshire 2. One preseason win against a understrength level 5 team doesn't make league winners out of them in my opinion.

Who will end up on top at the end of the season?

Yorkshire 1 / Re: New season thoughts

As preseason is progressing, any body have any other predictions for how the season will pan out?

Yorkshire 1 / New season thoughts
« on: June 21, 2022, 01:57:05 PM »
With preseason beginning who are the seasons runners and riders?

For me I can see only one eventual winner if all things stay relatively the same from last year - West Leeds.

But any information or new signings that might upset the apple cart please do share.

Would also be great to find out abit more about the promoted teams and their style of play, did anyone manage to watch them last season and compare their level with last years?

Who will struggle this year? I can't see how Huddersfield can turn things around without a brand new team and players don't seem to be a plenty. Think Salem will improve on last season, if they manage to keep the signings they made at the end of last season together.

Any other thoughts welcome.

Should be relegated down to Yorkshire 3, a joke that they have been allowed to stay up when there are teams in Yorkshire One more than capable of making the step up.

Is this confirmed or are you guessing? But does make mathematic sense, unsure how they would work it if only 2 teams were relegated.
