Agree BRB. The size of crowds is irrelevant, it’s the game which is the problem. Community Game Board have asked two questions-
What is the appetite/desire for:-
a) Return and Participate in full contact rugby.
b) Return and Participate in full contact rugby under adapted rules(e.g. no scrums, amended tackle laws etc)

Unfortunately a) appears to be a non starter, and b) should be welcomed by all clubs, otherwise there will be no rugby at all. The rate of increase in cases is worrying although more testing is being carried out, but the scrum is an issue.

No one has got their own way apart from FRG. The one thing I would say is that with 14 team leagues last season was difficult (ignoring Covid 19).

Playing 12 team leagues with a viable cup competition at the end of the season, is not a disaster. Market the Cup games properly and clubs will soon recoup the money they have ‘lost’ owing to a reduction in home league games. Don’t forget clubs could have 2 + home matches if they progress in the Competition.

Currently cup competitions have precedent over league matches.

As yet unconfirmed but apparently all 189 RDO/CRCs have been made redundant. The existing current Development Areas are been dissolved and a new structure based on the 4 RFU Divisions will be created with roughly SIX coaching support roles in each Division i.e in the North 1 Community coach per County.

I find the comments by Earpy about North Ribb very sad. No details and what does ‘Full of Morons mean?’
The club is situated in the most pleasant areas of North Yorkshire. Members well respected by all at Yorkshire RUFC and North DOC l.

It’s all to do with Northumberland. They wanted two clubs to be near the A1!

What a fantastic piece of work. This post must be stored onto the website,

Dear Colleagues,
County Office:
Griffin House, 24 Station Road, Morley, Leeds LS27 8JW
YRFU Merit Leagues and Tables 2020-21
Following on from our letter of the 26th June we write by way of an update.
It is our understanding that RFU fixtures are likely to be issued this week. These will be provisional indicative dates, as there is no indication yet of a commencement date for Rugby.
Indeed, in the light of the RFU Announcement on Friday, that ”in the short term it is likely that the format of rugby the community game is able to play will be a modified version, not the full 15 a side game,” meaningful league rugby could be some way off.
If you have not seen the article in question, here is the link
The link within the article https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19- guidance-on-phased-return-of-sport-and-recreation/return-to-recreational-team-sport-framework to the Government guidelines should also be considered as this sets out the measures to be considered/taken to allow team sports to recommence.
There is, in our view, no point in arranging merit league fixtures at the present time, particularly as we have not yet finally formulated the playing arrangements for the different leagues.
We will communicate further, when we have some clarity from the RFU on their plans, and we will arrange “virtual” fixture secretaries’ meetings for each league when we will explain the playing arrangements and when fixtures can be arranged. We will start with the Premiership and move downwards from there.
It would be appreciated if clubs could provide e-mail addresses, for any changes to their fixture secretary since last year, to competitions@yorkshirerfu.co.uk.

Any clubs fancy playing 7’s in a Conference format?
