Rods won 42-10 which should have secured our top 4 spot

Surely you could have said you werent prepared to play on it if was that bad!

When 16 lads have made the effort to travel 30 odd mile you might as well play but an inspection should have been done on the morning of the game if not during the week to rule it unplayable in my opinion

I agree the fixtures shouldn't be played on that Saturday, but how can you get a player from anywhere to play 1st team. I am quite sure we have been fined in he past for this !
Don't get me wrong I hope Rods make the top 4 and good effort for going in the 1st place

Played as a friendly, Stocksbridge got the home walkover, so became more of a club fixture than a 1st team fixture

2 HMW on a weekend when fixtures shouldn’t be played in my opinion.

Rods traveled to Stocksbridge with 15 players (only 2 front rowers) probably had more unavailable than available.
I put a message on the BASS rugby Facebook group and a front rower from Selby 4ths volunteered to come help us out so we did have competitive scrums (for about 60 minutes) and a sub.

The game was played on a pitch that probably shouldn’t have passed a pitch inspection as part of the field had mud that was nearly knee deep (probably over exaggerating more ankle deep), but it did provide a different type of entertainment for people watching when the ball went to that quarter of the pitch with the forwards slow balling it through the mud and the backs trying to stay well away from it.

The game finished 37-14 to Stocksbridge who scored most of their points in the last 20 minutes when our defence had tired. They played the slope and mud a lot better then we did.

Hope everyone in Yorkshire 4 has a good Christmas and Good luck to all teams in the new year except when you play Rods

Rods 19- 12 York RI
Very unbalanced penalty and card count but York couldn’t take advantage

Poor show that on the face of it! Unless the game with Mods has been re-arranged, why would it be acceptable to cancel a game with one team and then play another!?

Meant we are playing Mods

Halifax v Bramley - going to be a tougher one away from home, but Bramley are rolling, so expect another win for them
LMD v Burley - as above really, would think that Burley will get the win here.
Leeds Mods v Knaresborough - can only see one of two outcomes; big home win or a walkover

Hessle v Rowntrees - would think a close one, but home advantage to tell for Hessle
Stocksbridge v Oaks - again a big home win, hopefully no walkover
York R.I. v Mosborough - potential to be a great game that could go either way, going to go with the home side to edge it here though.

Guessing Knaresborough have had to cry off because we (rods) are playing Mods in a friendly now

Last weeks game against Burley was witnessed by a Mods spy in the camp, Leeds Utd esc.
Who took notes on the national one game !!!
Unfortunately he then lost the notes which were found the following day at the club  ;D

Really Yorkshire 4  ::) they will have come away with that prop on the wing scored 4

This was probably summed up by rods today, lads who normally play in the forwards playing 10 12 and 13 😂

Rowntrees v Rods finished 15-15
Ill discipline cost rods, 4 yellow cards to 0 during the game, I missed a Long distance penalty that could have won the game (last play) and lead to less confusion about the cup game, was supposed to be a league and cup double header but no extra time was played

Bramley v Burley - Burley
Knaresborough v Medics - Medics
Thirsk v Halifax- Thirsk

Mosborough v Rowntrees - Mosborough home advantage
Sheffield Oaks v York RI - RI will be too strong for Oaks
Stanley Rodillians v Hessle - Rods, from 12 players on Saturday to 26 available, can’t remember the last time we had players missing out

Good wins for Bramley and Mods.
Stocksbridge putting one on Rowntrees.
What’s happening with Knaresborough and Rods? Both Walkovers
Well done to Mosborough today, close game in parts and our lads did well to come back from 26-7 to make it 26-21 with a minute to go. Good luck to Mos for the rest of the season

Not a good day for Rods went from having 17 players on Friday night to 12 by the time we got to York.
We played a friendly after conceding the game, RI gave us 3 players (1 front rower to allow competitive scrums) and we played quite a competitive friendly which finished 24-12 to RI

Thanks to York for lending us the players, enjoyed the game and made it worth travelling for the 12 that bothered

Fixtures are out with 6 teams playing per week in each half leaving 2 teams without a game each week ?

Bit of a joke, what’s wrong with 1 league of 14

Rods went to Stocksbridge with 14, we were down to 12 men at half time. Full time was blown after about 60 minutes so the score could have been a lot worse than 49-0 but it was pointless playing on as points difference won’t matter after the league splits

Why was the Hessel / Stanley game postponed ??

We (rods) couldn’t raise a team due to a long injury list and other unavailabilities, not sure if it should be HWO or if it has been rearranged
