From what I read haven't some gone to Sheff? It’s a sad state of affairs really and unless something dramatic happens this is the beginning of the end for a lot of clubs.
Four of last years team were in the Sheffield team that beat Otley last week.
That's quite a step up.

only 3 players - 1 coach.
I stand corrected then.
Based it on looking at bothe web sites/team sheets.
one I believe plays for sheff 2's

Thornes last win was against Ribb on 7/8th Jan this year was the only game they won. It was the only game they won last season. Hobbo you are quite correct in your observation of a Ribb lad. He was a big unit wore size 14 shoes when still at school and could do a stein in three seconds. I didnt believe it until I saw him do it as a bet at Settle cricket club. He is now in New Zealand and his first child weighed 11lb.6oz. Dont think they will make shoes big enough for him. Lol.
11lb 6!!! Made my eyes water reading that!

After a disappointing loss at Osset last week. that was a Much needed  BP Win for us, Our forwards were brilliant all around the park and simply set the platform for our RL Backs to do what they do best.

But I’ll Mirror what Mrs Beach said.

If Sheff Meds can keep that team throughout the season, they will turn a lot teams over. They Run us ragged for 80 minutes with no sign of slowing and the forwards were physical too.
As always a Really good set of lads off the field too, with their getting hooker MOM, to which he downed our 2.5pint Horn in a club record time of about 8 seconds. That will take some beating!!

Now on to our first bus trip of the season to Skipton on Saturday 🍺

There was a lad at N Ribb years back who was like lightening at downing pints. Could do a 2pinter in sub 5 seconds I think.

A contact told me some lads had gone to Hemsworth. If true, and I don't know, that may also help explain their great start to the season.

Not to my knowledge flaggy. Sheffield and one to Morley.

Bramley Phoenix v Wath Upon Dearne - not knowing anything about Wath I'll go home advantage here. Bramley -7

Harrogate Pythons v Barnsley - shame really that Barnsley can't get a side out as we had a pre match lunch for 70 people booked with John Bentley speaking. Don't know whether walkovers are included in predictions so Pythons +7

Leeds Corinthians v Baildon - Baildon made sure everyone knew in their programme last week that they were missing their 4 new signings, as if no other club loses players to injuries, holidays, shopping trips etc. Either way backing Corinthians at home. Corinthians +7

North Ribblesdale v Wheatley Hills - would have to go with home advantage again here. Ribb -7

Northallerton v Wensleydale - struggling start for North and although Dale don't traditionally travel as well I'd expect them to have more than enough here. Wensleydale +7

Ripon v Yarnbury - have the wheels fallen off at Ripon already? Can Yarnbury take confidence from battering Barnsley so bad last week that they didn't want to travel this week? Ripon should bounce back strongly at home. Ripon +7

That is a massive shame GP, sorry to hear that.  It sounds like a lot of planning and expense might have been for nothing.
Although I am not an official spokesperson for the club I can say that this season has gotten off to a particularly difficult start for Barnsley.  Quite possibly the worst in it's 120 year history.
I've played senior rugby at the club for 20 years and never known us forfeit any 1st XV matches so that gives some indication as to where we are.
All I can say for fact is that the people who are working behind the scenes to overcome this difficult period are dear friends of mine and are working hard to try and make this season as competitive as it can be. Unfortunately the circumstances mean we are unable to field a side this week so once again 36 lads go without rugby.

Good to hear Hobbo, hopefully you can keep it going. We know first hand how hard it is to get a team week in week out. I'm sure they'd love to have you in middle of that scrum mate!

Cheers pal

Hope they had enough players for a meeting?

Knott'la boys dont have the required features to turn out for our Barnsley friends, the 6th finger and knuckle dragging foot trailing saunter is missing.

But I hope they can get the numbers in

Oh Hoodie, if only you knew how to use the quote button correctly... DM me mate and I'll talk you through it ;-)

I was being very tongue in cheek when I said Knottla lads had been down... Didn't mean to cause a stir, was simply a bit of soft.

Yeah I agree.... epic fail on the whole qoute thing ... its been a while👍

Its all banter mate, but i might start getting my big spoon out and start stirring again

Always mate!  ;)

So there's no substance in a new semi-professional club - Barningly emerging then?

No mate... but when you say it like that I kind of wish there was!

Any update on your lot Hobbo? Hopefully you can get a team together without having to get you to dust the boots off again!

I believe they are able to fulfil the fixture this week mate, which is good news as no one wants to miss out on playing.  So at least both Barnsley and Baildon get a run out.  They're not that desperate yet Beach ;-)

Picking up points

That's the key.

All attention is good attention  :)!

We have over 20 training both nights a week which hasn’t been seen down at our place for over 7 years. And the buzz is the best I’ve seen it. Our captain from last year Dale has returned from his snake breeding course and we are ready to give it a push and be consistent all year! UTW

Consistently what though MrG?

Saw on their website there was a players meeting last night
. Can Hobbo enlighten us. Or anyone else

I can't unfortunately Flaggy as I wasn't at the meeting. It is my understanding that Barnsley are able to turn a side out this week.  But other than that I can't really enlighten anyone.
