North One / So Semi-pro Scarbrough Hit the Front.
« on: November 21, 2018, 02:10:35 PM »
As Silver Royd are getting some returns for their off shore investments!

1. So how long will it last?
2. Will we see a further influx of Antipodean rugby refugees on two year contracts?
3. Who has the financial backing to catch them?

Plain sailing to Northern Premier One, in my view for the candyfloss boys!

North One / Early Season Injures

York have picked up injuries to 5 players so far that might take longer than a few weeks to recover from.

So big challenge for the York boys this weekend away at Malton.

That said still a decent side taking to the field, so it should be a good test.

North One / The Belgian Referee Experiment?

Not sure how many officiated this weekend in this league?
But the guy who was at York did ok
He didn’t pay enough attention to the offside sneaks by PP who played him better than York but overall 7 out of 10!

East Yorkshire has 5 sides in this league, but so have West Yorkshire.

With B and B failing to impress so far, West Leeds, another preseason favourite coming unstuck at Morley!

Is it going to be YMCA who emerge as the strongest contenders for league glory from the Wessies?

Yorkshire 1 / Dead Rubber? Don't You believe it!

York travel to Heath on Saturday wanting to right some wrongs!

A poor performance at Beverley last week, preceded by the nervous draw against Heath at home the week before. Should more than enough motivation for the York boys to get back onto the "winning road" at Heath on Saturday!

So hopefully the Heath boys would have finished drowning their sorrows, after blowing a great chance to come second in the league and summon up enough enthusiasm to give York a game!

Yorkshire 1 / It’s get of the fence time! Who wants what?

With Le crunch (2) looming at Clifton Park on Saturday between York and Heath.
It’s time to nail your colors to the mast!

Who do the forum members want to prevail and why?

Yorkshire 1 / Maximum totals possible for the top 5
« on: April 02, 2018, 03:34:11 PM »
York currently 94pts, 5 to play so possible 25 points on offer. Could reach 119pts. Must beat Heath home and away and Beverley away.

Scarbs currently on 85pts, 3 to play,  15 points on offer, could reach 100pts.  No top 5 teams left to play.

Heath currently on 84pts, 4 to play, 20 points on offer, could reach 104pts. Must beat York home and away and Middlesbrough at home.

Middlesbroughy currently 83 points, 3 to play, so 15 points on offer, could reach 98. Must beat Heath away.

Beverley currently on 80pts, 4 to play so possible 20 points on offer. Could reach 100pts, Must beat York at home.

So Scarbs are sitting in the box seat for second place, they will get 100 points! As for the rest who knows?

Yorkshire 1 / Yorkshire 1 Dream team
« on: March 16, 2018, 07:23:27 PM »
I think this might be a good time to invite Y1 forum members to nominate their dream team selections for 2017/18 season!
Also the MVP? Over to you.

There is a lot riding on this game for Boro.

If they can beat Beverley? It puts them potentially back in the mix with an outside chance at second place!

It also opens the door for Scarborough to get back on their donkeys and wallop them back into the promotion shakedown (with games against both Heath and Beverley to come).

So which, if either, of our East Coast Riviera sides,  have got the minerals to force their way into the end of season contention for promotion?

Yorkshire 1 / The Battling 5?
« on: January 31, 2018, 09:40:48 PM »
Hullensians down are the relegation candidates for me.
Hullensians May have done enough early season to escape the trap door!
Can’t see Selby getting much from Beverley, Salem at Heath or Hullensions from Wobbly Jug but NR and WH have very winnable home games!
So all to play for!

Yorkshire 1 / Overturned Applecarts!

So shy penalty goal kicking York came a cropper last week!
Who’s turn is it this week?

Yorkshire 1 / Are Heath going under the Radar?
« on: January 24, 2018, 06:28:51 PM »
Have a look at the fixtures to come.
Heath must be quietly confident? A double over York will mean York will need more than something out of their difficult away games!
This league is far from over!
