Yorkshire 3 / Remaining Fixtures
« on: April 06, 2019, 07:23:27 PM »
So some teams have clearly checked out and taken an early summer break, but there is still some very important fixtures for other clubs left to play.

Thorne vs Pythons, currently booked for the 4th May, assuming Thorne make it to Twickers, when is that game likely to be held? Comment from anyone at Pythons or Thorne is welcome.

Baildon vs Thorne, can’t see this one pencilled in anywhere in the England rugby website? Does anyone from either club know when it’s likely to be played?

Thorne appear to have a blank weekend on the 27th April...is that staying as is? Seems a bit much to ask for teams to be available to play until 25th May!

Yorkshire 3 / Yorkshire 3 Newcomers
« on: September 18, 2018, 04:26:32 PM »
So we are 3 weeks in to a new season, and to say there have been a few surprising results is a bit of an understatement! The 2 newly promoted sides sitting top of the table appear to be scoring plenty and defending well. So what are peoples initials perceptions on Rotherham Phoenix and Leeds Corinthians? What do each bring to Yorkshire 3 and what can we expect when we play them?

Yorkshire 1 / Leagues within a league
« on: September 20, 2015, 08:51:34 AM »
We have a distinct split in the league this season...between those clubs who have either 'invested' in Southern Hemisphere talent and/or raided their neighbouring clubs, the allure of £100 a game being to hard to resist for the mercenaries of the Yorkshire leagues.

League A (proper clubs)
Yarnbury
Selby
Old Crocs
York
North Rib
Hullensians
West Park

League B (the investors)
Bridlington
Scarborough
Bees
Salem
Malton and Norton
Heath
Old Brods

It does make for some interesting battles, but not everyone can go up or go down. I just hope for the sake of the big spenders that missing out on promotion and settling for mid table obscurity isn't going to stretch the club  to far for seasons to come.

Yorkshire 2 / Where would we be without bonus points...
« on: March 10, 2014, 02:19:36 PM »
The order of the top 7 would have a very different look to it if bonus points didn't exist...

1. Yarnbury -  Played - 19/Points - 60
2. Hull -   21/58
3. WPL -   21/58
4. Barnsley -   22/56
5. Salem -    22/54
6. Medics -    21/52
7. Leos -   21/52

The bottom of the table remains pretty much the same with Old Rish jumping up a couple of places.

Yorkshire 2 / Yarnbury vs West Leeds - Postponed
« on: February 08, 2014, 11:22:26 AM »
Unfortunately the weather has taken its toll, the final flurry of rain overnight has rendered our pitch unplayable. We will have to look forward to welcoming West Leeds in our 2nd next available weekend, we still need to pay a visit to Old Rish. Depending on how well we go in the Senior Vase, it's possible that both games will fall in May, some summer rugby for us to look forward to!

Yorkshire 2 / 15 man maul
« on: February 02, 2014, 10:23:01 AM »
Hartlepool 5 - 18 Yarnbury

It's fair to say, I've had more enjoyable trips to the seaside. Thankfully we've only had the misfortune of playing Hartlepool BOBB twice in 54 years, I'm pretty sure the tactics used in 1961 were the same as we were faced with yesterday. A 15 man maul with plenty of cheap shots thrown in for good measure, the referee was of North East descent and had no control over the game what so ever. But a wins a win, the lads have all agreed, it's a pleasure to be in Yorkshire 2!

Yorkshire 2 / Ripon or Knottingley, who's going to drop?
« on: January 25, 2014, 07:44:03 PM »
Still a fair way to go, but we are definitely at the business end of the season. Here's how the remaining fixtures pan out for Ripon and Knotts.

Ripon
WPL - away
Leos - home
Yarnbury - away
Moortown - home
Baildon - away
Old Rish - home
Barnsley - away
Roundhegians - away

Knottingley
Leos - home
Moortown - away
Old Rish - home
Roundhegians - away
Shef Meds - home
West Leeds - away
WPL - home
Yarnbury - away
Shef Meds - away

Currently after today's games, Ripon have 24 points and Knottingley have 32.

I've highlighted fixtures where I think both teams could win and pick up points. If each game is won by each team, without taking into account bonus points, they would both finish on 36 points!
