Hi lads,

On Saturday at Baildon RUFC were having a memorial match for my dad who was a rugby stalwart at our club,  and who died of blood cancer last October at 61.

Long story short,  if more men between the ages of 18-30 had signed up to the Anthony Nolan stem cell donation register he may have stood more of a chance.  We're holding the event to raise funds and get people signed up on the register. Rugby players are the perfect demographic.

All details can be found here: https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/17797560.respected-rugby-coach-player-martin-peel-remembered-charity-match/

It'd be amazing if you  can drop the link in your various WhatsApp groups or Facebook and get your teams to come and watch and sign up.  Entry is free,  donation suggested.

Martin Peel Memorial Match
Saturday 3rd August
Mixed ability tag 1-3pm
Main event 3-5pm

Stocks 6 Baildon 9

The tough match we thought it would be. Gutted that another nail was broken on my hand. Ill have to book into the manicurist tomorrow. The game could have gone either way. Stocks provided excellent defense and made some good runs into our 22 and we're unlucky not to come with points. They played some attractive attacking rugby through backs which isn't something I've seen from them before. And they look to have made some new signings. I'm sure they're going to be scalping some caps soon. They seem to have cleaned up their game as well. Excellent hosts. Cheers boys

Full time Thorne 18-13 Wetherby

Could have been different -Weth broke through with minutes to go only to be pulled back to take their own penalty. Some strange refereeing choices all round. Thorne more dominant - pressured Weth back line well and Weth never really looked like they got going

Yorkshire 3 / Season Summary
« on: May 02, 2016, 10:14:31 PM »
How would you summarise the season from your clubs perspective?

Tough old season for us with plenty of lessons to be learned. 9 losing bonus points earned which could have given us a boost equal to the penalties Bramley suffered. We need to learn how to start and finish games securely and get a bit of tactical nouse. Things are looking bright under new management and hopefully we can do a Leicester next season.

Yorkshire 3 / Alternative names for Y3 clubs
« on: February 26, 2016, 03:21:58 PM »
Bit of fun - what would your alternative names for Y3 clubs be based on style of play/reputation/rumours etc
E.G Northallerton could be Nothing-out-of-town due to their away record
Leeds Medics and Dentists
Old Otliensians
Leeds Modernians
Harrogate Pythons
Bramley Phoenix
Rotherham Phoenix

Yorkshire 3 / Promotions and Relegations - halfway predictions.
« on: December 10, 2015, 05:54:55 PM »
Halfway through the season.

Can anyone beat Wetherby?
Can Thorne go all season without a red?
Will Northallerton ever learn to travel?
Will the rain carry on and make it hard for Pythons?
Can Aireborough carry on their run of form?
Will Rotherham win?
Does anyone actually like playing at Stocksbridge - even the stocksbridge players?????

Lots of questions but what are your answers - who will be promoted/relegated?

Yorkshire 3 / Up and Downs
« on: August 17, 2015, 01:33:54 PM »
Season is approaching. Who are your picks for the teams challenging for Yorkshire 2 and who do you think will struggle to stay in Yorkshire three?

Stocks - if they retain end of season form
'Gate - pick up plenty of home points on that pitch

Aire - heard a lot of players retiring

Goole and Thorn - both very inconsistent towards end of season
