Knottingley 32 Harrogate Pythons17
A tough old battle today and probably our best performance so far. Ref was great and let the game flow and was happy with the physicality from both sides which was good to see and made for a much more entertaining match.
RFU site not showing any results yet, does anyone else know any other scores?

Yorkshire 3 / That's that then!
« on: September 25, 2020, 11:12:54 AM »
Well that's it confirmed by the RFU no rugby until January 2021 at the earliest. Some long Saturday's ahead for all of us unfortunately. Hopefully we'll have some normality back at some point soon before we all retire!

Yorkshire 3 / Rob Burrow Fundraising
« on: February 03, 2020, 02:21:11 PM »
I am aware this isn't necessarily Rugby Union related but I would hope rugby is all one big family at times and I have been asked to post this on the forum from the club's Facebook page to see if we can raise as much money as possible for a brilliant cause which I think you'll agree it is.
Following the recent news that Leeds Rhinos legend Rob Burrow has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Allied Glass Containers have teamed up with Game Time Vodka and kindly donated this stunning, filled, American Football designed bottle, ahead of Super Bowl 54 to raise money to support Rob, Lindsey and their young family. In addition to this, Rob himself has signed the bottle to give it that extra special touch.
In the form of an online auction, the highest bidder by Friday 7th February at 7pm on this original Facebook post will be the proud owner of this great piece of memorabilia, whilst being happy in the fact they have donated to a great cause. (*please feel free to share, only bids on original post will count, minimum reserve of £100*) Please see the link below if anyone wants to make a bid.

Yorkshire 3 / Walk over or rearranged fixture?
« on: December 15, 2019, 05:31:40 PM »
Just wondered what people's thoughts were on our postponed/rearranged game with Aireborough yesterday regarding the reasoning behind it. We offered on Wednesday to reverse the fixture if needed in case the Aire pitch wasn't playable, which was the case on Saturday, so we obviously offered to reverse the fixture as said on Wednesday but were then told Aire didn't have a team to travel to our place yet had a team to play at home? 🤔 So we are now replaying the game on 25th January to our annoyance. Just interested to see what others would have expected from the reasons given yesterday? Would you expect to be given the points as Aire said they couldn't raise a team to travel or accept the rearranged fixture? I understand how hard it is to raise a team especially this time of year so can understand Aires struggles but think if a team are saying they can play at home but can't away so can't fulfill the fixture then the other team waiting to play should be given the game, especially given the backlog of fixtures now piling up that the Yorkshire RFU keep telling us about.

Cas 3 - 17 Knottla
Absolute mud bath on the second team pitch with neither team really being able to get going, 3-0 to Cas at half time but we sparked in to some sort of life in the second half and scored some good tries to get the win. Not a game for the spectators, I'm chuffing freezing!

So I'm told a great performance from the boys to keep up the unbeaten start to the season. Up the worms!

Knottingley 26-20 Old Otliensians
Bonus point win for Knottingley and a cracking game to watch in lovely weather. Knottingley deserved winners but Ensians pushed them all the way, even better result considering the personnel missing. Up the worms!

Yorkshire 3 / National Cup fixtures
« on: September 20, 2019, 12:08:21 PM »
Just wondering if anyone knows what dates the national cup fixtures are on or even when they get released? We still have no idea when they are or who we are playing. Any help would be appreciated as people are trying to plan around them!

Yorkshire 3 / Thorne V Harrogate
« on: May 17, 2019, 01:28:41 PM »
Big game tomorrow for both sides in a promotion decider! Interested to hear who people think will finish off the season in 2nd? Seen as the forum will be all but dead for a few months. I think Thorne definitely have the upper hand with home advantage and a 2 point lead in the table but it's not beyond Harrogate getting a result, although it would be some effort. Personally I think Thorne will clinch second spot.

Before anything else gets said a massive respect to Rotherham for coming through to us today with clearly a scratch team. They gave us the HWO before the game but still came through to give us a contest which was great as we had all our sponsors down for today and a good crowd to boot. The score finished 102-0 but was played in good spirits throughout and a big mention to Rotherham for sticking at it for the full game and staying for a few drinking games after too in the club. No matter the score rugby won today. Good luck for the season Roth.

Leeds Corinthians 14-31 Knottingley
Good win today at Corinthians in difficult conditions with wind dictating a lot of the game. Went through with 17 but played some good rugby to get the bonus point win and even better defence. Not an easy place to go for anyone, good luck to Leeds for the season good set of lads.

Knottingley 27 Cas 23
Good game of rugby and both teams played well with some big hits going in. Cas scored with about 3 minutes to go to take the lead but Knottla scored in the last minute after regaining the kick off to take it back. Great game of rugby and end to end stuff!

Yorkshire 3 / Simon Middleton is a Worm!
« on: November 23, 2018, 07:36:33 PM »
Just a little interview with Simon Middleton if anyone wants a bit of light reading talking about how he used to play at this level in his early days with Knottingley. See we're not all bad!
