Regional Two (North & North East) / Tom Edwards
« on: December 02, 2022, 08:29:53 AM »
Today we celebrate the life of Tom along with his family and friends at Selby Abbey, then back to Selby RUFC.
The family have set up a fundraising page towards a mental health charity, which a few clubs have already donated to. Thank you for all of your messages.

Wow, wonder what implications this has on Keighley?
PM arranged a lift for JH to get to Yarnbury. He arrived at Yarnbury approximately 20 minutes
into the training session and spoke to Charlie Maunder (CM) informing CM that he was a Colt
and had been training with Keighley RUFC senior side and that he preferred senior training.
He trained with the senior squad that evening and again on the 17th and 22nd January

Other Senior Rugby / Yorkshire Cup shock
« on: April 12, 2018, 07:27:07 AM »
Last night I watched one of the most enthralling games of rugby for a long time. A young Doncaster Phoenix team took on the might of Harrogate in the Yorkshire Cup semi final. After Harrogate dominated the first half Donny scored in the last few mins to win 22-19.
What a game of rugby, midweek under lights, with a large crowd watching.
Long live the Yorkshire competitions!!

Great to see the RFU start to move fixtures away from the traditional Saturday afternoon.
This fixture approval will hopefully open the door for other games to be moved.

Great news indeed!!

Looks a very exciting opportunity in Scarborough for the local lads;

But will this be under pressure from the newly formed Bishop Burton scheme in the area?

Other Senior Rugby / Premiership Rugby
« on: January 04, 2015, 04:19:36 PM »
Well this weekend I found time to watch two games on BT Sport.
I can not believe the difference in vision and application between the two games.
For England to prosper we need to boot out these negative coaches and promote open flowing rugby!!
This is not an attack on the scrum or line out as I am a fan of them if used correctly, but the Leicester mentality was awful today!!
This was also witnessed at the U15 academy tournament during the summer, with the Leicester team physically bashing teams but scoring no tries!!
Thoughts?

Yorkshire 1 / Scabs coach not happy!!
« on: August 31, 2014, 09:55:41 AM »
Seems as though there is a little problem with player retention at Scabs?

On a serious note it is very frustrating when players leave when they have supposedly committed to the next season.
