Yorkshire 2 / scores week 17

Even game at Ribb today. One which with successful kicks we would have won. However, no complaints, we tried to over elaborate in the backs sometimes which ended coughing up possession. Both sides, imo, defended very well and our young winger scored one of the best tries I have seen for a long time.
True rugby camaraderie from Wath, letting their bus take our seconds and Harrogate Pirates over to the local village to play (thanks for that), our second team pitch being relaid will not be ready until next season. We could have won with the last kick but missed from 30m in front of the posts, so suppose we didnt deserve to.
Apologies to Earpy but went home soon after match as wasnt feeling too good. Well played, by the way. On todays showing I think both teams will be playing each other again next season. I hope so as Wath are good rugby people.

Yorkshire 1 / Brods alert
« on: January 18, 2019, 11:14:29 PM »
With temperatures set to plummet tonight to a chilly 1 degrees. Will Brods venture to the extremes of south yorks or will they Canary test a junior side to go first and not risk a cataclysmic event with their expensively assembled first team squad that must cost a fortune to insure.
Let's see what happens. Hope the weather forecasters have got it right !!!!

Just a cautionary note to all posters on this free speaking public forum. Please be aware that once somebody knows which is your pseudonym and you make any critical comments about an individual, (or anything they do in life) even though they are only your honest opinion, you may be liable to "Defamation of character" prosecution as was explained to me by someone over the weekend. I felt personally threatened by the conversation and only want to make all aware of the potential downside of partaking in a bit of banter and generally lighthearted conversation between good people who support our great game.
Fwiw, i take all negative comments on here of my flagging abilities (when i was more able) as a bit of "Craic" and would never stoop to such levels once I know the actual person behind any posts.
Please be careful as there are a few people out there who have had a humour extraction!!!!!!

Just to say that after initial negative thoughts  the new system is definitely a step forward for computasaurases like me.
Although the workshops imo weren't the best. The system works well and saves me personally 26 first class stamps a year.
Comments please.

Yorkshire 2 / Results week 1
« on: September 01, 2018, 09:47:22 PM »
Come on all you Y2 posters let's hear about today's results.
We North Ribb had a convincing win at Grovians 57. 3 However after being pushed off the first two scrums it didn't bode well.nwe then exerted some pressure and started to score either through penalty kicks or an df try to lead 19-3 at the interval. Strive as they did the Grovians lads ran out of a bit is steam and werent helped by injuries in the second half and we ran out convincing winners. Lots to work on for both sides but it was great to visit a Club for the  very first time.
Stick together Grovians. Wee really enjoyed the hospitality and making new rugby friends.

PS Was nice to Mr Nulty. Good man.

PPS Come on lads let's have some more participation and reports on here. Now Mr Hood has left Yawnbury maybe they will be allowed to take part and have their Fatwah removed.

Yorkshire 2 / Pre season
« on: August 23, 2018, 10:38:20 PM »
Ribb beat Wharfedale foresters 24- 15 tonight in a full game. It was three tries apiece but Ribb converted all 3 and a penalty to give a bit of breathing space. Whilst I think the mighty green machine maybe are not as strong as previous years they are nonetheless are a difficult side to beat.
This result with an away win at Keighley and a good squad victory over neighbours Skipton means we are for the first time for several years going into the season with three pre season wins under our belt.
The boys are looking forward to our first ever fixture at Grovians when we were ill be travelling on a bus as is customary.  Hoping to make some new rugby friends and get off to ( hopefully) a winning start.

Yorkshire 2 / Bus trips
« on: May 28, 2018, 08:58:59 PM »
Now that we are confirmed as relegated  and officially a Y2 team how many of you will make the journey to Ribb  a bus trip and enjoy everything that goes with that.
We always travel in a bus and want to continue that trend as we re  establish relations with our old friends from Leo's,  Wath,  WP ENGLAND, and the swamp monsters  from Horsforth to name but a few. Sorry Ripon also,
Look forward to your comments.
