We like Bev and it’s not like them.
Did they give a reason? Seems a bit unusual to be a player crisis given they’ve had a 2nd team out most weeks.

Last week I had driven all the way to watch the Hullensians - Wetherby game only to find out on my arrival that the game had been called off. Yes do we have to consider player safety but we should also consider the fans. It is often the highlight of the week for some people and we must do everything possible to carry out the games. Looking at the ground last week it was definitely playable and don't see why that match should have been called off.
Club admistrators have to make an early call. In this case 9.30am. They are not professinal weather experts. The pitch was frozen it was still -1 degrees at 1.00pm. Wetherby were informed at 9.30 am. Hullensians posted on all social media channels and WhatsAp groups the game was off. What more can you do?
Only 4 games were played that weekend across all 4 Yorkshire leagues. 2 of those on all weather pitches.
When you got to Hullensians was the ground open? Did you go onto the pitch to form your own opinion that it was playable?
Announcements from both clubs went out before 10am, don’t know what more they could have done. I wouldn’t have been travelling to watch anyone without checking first on a day where so many postponements were expected.

Keighley 39 - 5 Pythons
Very even 1st half with just 3 points in it at the break. A couple of injuries for us undermined our defensive wall and Keighley were ruthless in how they took advantage. Excellent at shifting the ball in contact and very organised, you can see why they haven’t lost at home for so long.
For us it’s another learning experience but I think one of the key things for us was highlighted in Keighley’s programme. They’ve used 27 players through their 1st team so far. Including 2 debutants today we’ve used 46. That lack of consistency is killing us and probably the main reason why we’ve been competitive in a lot of matches but aren’t picking up the wins. Still feeling positive about the 2nd half of the season though.

All the clubs have announced their teams for tomorrow so looks like West Leeds v Ripon is the only walkover. Some progress I suppose!

Based on social media posts I think the other 3 games are all on. The only one who haven’t posted yet are Pocklington but Wensleydale just put their team out so must be still expecting a game on.
With regards to walkovers we’ve seen teams get far in the cups just by having home draws and getting walkovers through to the latter stages. Looks like quite a few have tried their luck this time and pulled out when they’re drawn away. While we would all love a final at our club there’s no appetite from the lads to play in a fairly meaningless competition on one of the few free weekends during the season, that’s why we didn’t enter. We could’ve entered, hoped for the best with the draw and see how far we could push our luck before withdrawing with zero consequences.

To be fair once the Castleford and Knottingley boys stopped arguing on here there wasn’t a lot of chat left. Then most of the rest of the regular contributors have been promoted or relegated out of the league.
