Expecting Heath to win tomorrow. Crocs are a bunch of mercenaries. Heath have had a fairly consistent team for the last couple of years. Heath and Moortown to fight it out come the end of the year.

8, 9 and centre were your best players and they looked to be of the antipodean persuasion.

Heath and Boro to be the top 2. Will depend on how their head to heads go on who finishes top.

Moortown an unknown as so many of their better players are imports. Dinnington and Guisborough could do well like Malton and Norton and Beverley have done when coming down.

Old Rish to finish above Old Crocs and Brods.

Salem, Ponte and Crocs relegation favourites. They don't have the forwards to compete at this level.

I wouldn't listen to Show Pony. I am sure it's more skullduggery on his part as his last intel on the absent York front rowers was hogwash.

Young upstarts would arguably be more motivated than established first teamers when there's nothing to play for.

Either way, over a 26 game season teams end up in the position they deserve to be in.

Yorkshire 1 / Re: Scrum time challenge....

Shouldn't it be judged on most push over tries/penalty tries??
Such opportunities do not always present themselves. Again that can often be down the referee's interpretation.

Example.  Last week at Old Brods. Old Brods are defending their own try line and awarded a scrum. This takes place on the 5 yard line. York drive Old Brods back towards their own line. The ball still in the scrum but coming back towards the York drive. 1 yard from their own line the loose head prop from OB's drops the scrum to protect their ball. Referee decision penalty to OB's because York deliberately dropped the scrum. The referee's interpretation was Hog wash!

A dominant pack does not deliberately drop a scrum! They revel in the domination of their opponents and want to take the ball of them!

The referee last week at Brods was a young man, who on the whole refereed quite well, but clueless at scrum time! he is not alone at this lever!

Agree on the lottery of some referees' interpretation at scrum time but harsh to judge a ref on one scrum penalty from the touchline. Also agree with the lack of intelligence in the Brods front row.

Scarbs have a relatively easy final few fixtures after this weekend whereas Heath still need to play Boro and York twice. Scarbs can probably afford to lose this weekend and still go up barring Heath doing the double over York. A loss leaves them level on points barring a BP lose (albeit Heath have a game in hand). Scarbs should easily rake up 15 points in the last set of games and meaning Heath need 15 from WH/York/Boro/York. That's a tough ask. Scarbs are massive favorites for me.

Bev have a nice run in but need too many results to go their way and also would need to turn over York

Agree on this although more like 10 points from York, Boro and York again as WH will be a 5 pointer for Heath.

Having seen Scarborough last week I think they will go up. Almost a certainty if they get a losing BP and Heath don't.

Agree with the Halifax lads mentioned here. Surprised no one has mentioned the Brods prop. Him and the 13 and 15 chosen surely show the benefit and merit of drafting in lads from abroad which is a topic frequently brought up here?

Scarborough need to beat Bev and likewise Heath need to beat Scarborough next week to ensure it's a a four horse race for second place.

After that it's all on the York games. York vs Heath twice and Beverley at Beverley.

More or less right...

I wasn't aware of any mind games other than Heath in a rather un-rugby like manner giving back-word on a match day they suggested.

Scarborough have the same team available Friday Saturday, (Sunday) or Monday. However a number of the players are at the Antony Joshua fight on Saturday night. Scarborough asked if we could have a 1pm kick off to enable these guys (amateur rugby players) to travel down in good time. Heath said NO.

Scarborough then asked about playing Monday - Heath said NO.

Heath then said the game could be played on Friday. A number of Scarborough players booked time off work (yes many do work on Good Friday) and we agreed to play on Friday. The league secretary was informed.

Then as a matter of good practice, Scarborough emailed Heath, the league, the ref organiser, the local paper etc.. confirming that the match was on Good Friday.

Heath contacted Scarborough and the chap from Heath expressed his absolute embarrassment to say that the Heath coach was being an "utter ars* hole" and had overridden what had previously been offered by Heath and would only play 3pm on Saturday. He wouldn't even consider an earlier kickoff.

So exactly the same Scarborough team (with players coming from all over the country from holiday) was available on every day but now there is a really pisssed off team playing at 3pm on Saturday with a group leaving straight after the match to see the last few minutes of a flight in Wales.

You must be very proud of your coach....what a true testament to your rugby values.

You might consider yourself the top team in Halifax but as a club you have fallen well below your neighbours in my eyes after this episode. Furthermore the people I know at Heath would not agree with this behaviour for a second.

Crisis in Yorkshire 1 as game scheduled for 3pm on a Saturday. Coincidentally the normal time a game kicks off. Something is seriously wrong.

Hello relative of Harvey,

From my perspective Heath were very comfortable dealing with the very limited game plan of old rish. Traditional 10 man rugby has no place troubling the teams in the upper echelons of the league.

I heard that it was the effort in defence, whether off first phase or scrambling that won you the game so certainly sounds like it is a happy camp.
