I have had the good fortune to be able to go to the office every day ( in the centre of town ) with one other employee and the company has been able to tick over at about 36% of normal for the time of year. This has preserved the jobs of the other four. We are able to access the moors for our daily exercise and do so.

On Monday, whatever the nature of the rabbit is that Boris produces, staff will return on a staggered basis and by June 1st, we will be back to full complement. Social distancing is possible where we are. We have had far too much media-driven doom and gloom, exacerbated by the blunt-instrument tactics employed so far. We cannot get deaths down to zero and it is futile spending our children’s future in an attempt to do so. we need a more focussed approach now.

I look forward to meeting all you old rugby friends and I’m optimistic that it will be before the end of October.

I’m hoping common sense will prevail regarding golf, amongst other things, such as rubbish tips and garden centres. Not massively optimistic though.

I played one round the Sunday before lockdown under the new English Golf guidelines and that worked very well.

Regarding the old forum favourite ‘ splashing the cash ‘ I know two clubs local to us have been making overtures, but they have always paid, so nothing new there. The new financial reality might change that of course, but in the meantime, I hope A. That rugby will be played at all this year and B. That we can put a challenging team out.

Miserable thought, but I fear you’re right. Hoping for some good news next Thursday, as I’m sure Boris would always want to be the bearer of good tidings.

I’d settle for golf courses to open June 1st and for rugby to start October 1st......

I think next season will be heavily influenced by financial reality checks. I wish you every success at York - it’s a great league, even if the travelling gets tedious at times, but at least you’re closer to Alnwick than Wirral and Lymm !

North Prem is a very tough league and with Otley down along with Preston, plus Blaydon and Macclesfield all semi-pro, it’s going to be even tougher next season.

Ilkley missed the trip to Morpeth at the end of this season, but looking forward to seeing you all in the next.

I’m sure I posted twice here last night.... they’ve disappeared !

Anyway... I’ll be leaving Rolling Maul shortly, so our friends from York can take over one of the few Yorkshire spots. Looking forward top the N1E banter and some great away trips too.

You’ll have to move, old boy, as I did to ‘Regional Premier Leagues’ on the Rolling Maul Forum.

The demoted Clubs tend to do well, as they are almost always - no, always - semi-pro. Harrogate can consider themselves lucky to have leapfrogged Sandal and Macclesfield to return to Nat2N.

York will find it tough, as most promoted teams do. Morpeth and Carlisle have gone straight back down and Alnwick escaped going down after their second season by the skin of their teeth.

However, all that is based on this last season. I suspect the new season is going to be very different indeed.

All the best to York and enjoy the trip !

So Ilkley and Morpeth down to NE1, to be joined from Yorkshire 1 by Old Brods and Heath, with Consett coming up from D&N1. Well done to York !

Presumably Kendal will return to NW1.

Be nice to see some old faces. Or older faces, as it will be by the time we meet !

No formula required for us at Ilkley, I’m afraid. Has the proposed league reorganisation been shelved ?
