Great effort to keep the table running so well Ribbex, it must be difficult to keep the Rioja from clouding your judgement? Mind you, you and Dan must be consuming some seriously good stuff to keep up your table topping performances. Shame can’t be said of your respective teams. LOL. :o

Ha ha, got you there Ribbex, or did you get me? Though I was expecting Flaggy to bite! Anyway, we all know that Northallerton players either hang their boots up or go to York.

Maybe it’s the unsustainable pressure of being a Wharfedale feeder club?

It’s a topsy turvy old world and just goes to show that it’s not over until the fat lady sings. Hope she’s not from Wath or Wheatley Hills ha ha.

Also, looks like Knottla are throwing a few games in Y3 to avoid promotion and the deathly hush of banter on here?

Ripon 31 - 13 Old Grovians: Not quite the complete performance that Ripon we capable of, but happy with five tries and five points to open the gap further between 3rd and 4th places. Apart from conceding a penalty try in the second half when OGs were at their best, Ripon’s defence held firm again. Great to see Ripon’s expansive game paying off, with all tries shared between the two Wingers. Wish Gas Man all the best after his early departure. Also the other injured players who reduced OGs to 14 men for the last quarter.

No aspersions being cast here MK, just commenting that to consolidate a position in Y1, clubs generally (though few admit) invest in some way in players.

Can’t think who in the current Rish squad who might actually be being paid, or a refund might be on the cards. That said, a decent team played against Ripon and just showed how important clinical finishing is.

Not a snide bone in my body MK, just a sense of humour. No association with Scarborough either I’m afraid. I hate sand, seagulls and scabby donkeys.

Can’t see Rish or Hegians slipping up at this point, so good luck in their promotion prospects. Both seem to have got used to winning, albeit closely at times. Ripon, as I am sure Wheatos as well, won’t be looking to take the foot off the gas. The current league position is the best in years and the squad is in great spirits and shape.

Ripon do suffer the perennial situation of under 18s coming of age and not knowing whether they will stay locally or move on to academia. We therefore make the most of what we have each year and hope that the success of the club will also attract other long term prospects. This season’s Army intake has yielded great results.

Can’t speak for Hills, but there must be something in the local water to keep the big boys coming through.

Very magnanimous in victory Flaggy, considering how rare it is you talk about it.

Tough day in the office at Copley yesterday, with two sides going at it for a full 80 minutes. Game of two halves - Rish won the first 15 - 0 and Ripon the second 10 - 0. The wind was clearly the deciding factor in each half and Rish played it better when they had it. Ripon lacked their recent clinical finishing, but defence was up there. Credit to the Rish Number 8 who despite his stature, had pace and penetration and their blonde Flanker who made a right nuisance of himself. Not sure if they are a Y1 outfit again yet, but that depends on next season’s bank balance.

“Obdurate” - did someone offer to buy you a pint if you used the word in your post? Hope you stay up as words like that will be wasted on the Knottingley posters.
