Good point Bren, though there is often prolonged face to face contact in roundball, but it’s usually players remonstrating in referee’s faces.

Point of order, shouldn’t it be “Old Rishworthians are”?

Sorry to hear of your ill health and exit from pundits league. Great loss, but hope you improve soon.

A scheme we used to massive success in a former club many years ago was to virtually “sell” 1 square metre plots of the main pitch. We had a sign painted wooden board marked out as the pitch and put little brass plaques to denote “ownership”. Competition to fill the pitch was intense. Prices were structured around place on pitch - half way and goal lines attracted the highest premia, the rest varied. The whole pricing structure depends on amount to be raised for the club. Plus consider one off lifetime “ownership”, or annual/ other period “rental”. There’s some legal stuff, which should be easy and cheap enough, but nothing compares to “owning” the bit of the pitch where you scored your first 1st XV try!

Well said Wily and keep up the good work. Whether boring or not, at least you are posting and not just following.

Good points Flaggy. I suggest you and Mrs take it in turns to visit garden gate and avoid carrying any sharp implements during the crossover. Stay safe yourself.

Great news Dan, hope the transition goes smoothly and the partnership endures well. Going to miss the banter about poo dodging though.

Cheers Wily, I can't believe I actually got three right! No copyright issues with you plagiarising my material, just hope there's more where this came from - could do with a bit of light relief.

On the nail about golf BRB! Also can’t see many clubs with much cash to splash.

Well done WilyJ, looks like a lot of interest in browsing, but no punts to win prizes yet. Here goes:

1. Sheffield Medicals - fortunately they all recovered and are now advising the government on pandemic management

2. Hoodie from  Knottla - rumour has it he was born with concussion

3. York - in a bid to recruit from the Rowntrees talent Pool

4. Moortown - however, the revenue cost savings may contribute to more investment in pitch management equipment, like a bigger Hoover

5. Yarnbury - they’re not even allowed to talk to opposition after games

6. Got to be Carl - never seen him play, but think he sees himself as a good investment

7. Old Rishworthians - possibly due to the former Fijian connection?

8. Wily Coyote

9. Yorkshire what? Thought it ended at 3?

10. Toss up between Roundhegians and West Park England- going with England as they have the bigger (and drier) pitch and can better distance themselves.

Welcome to Y2 to Corinthians and Baildon. Hopefully some encouragement to engage in banter at another level? Happy to accommodate WWW as well if he wants to get better acquainted with folks for the season after next, when Grottla must surely get promoted again.
