It would be nice to get our cup game played

Unfortunately other than an occasional spectator I have no involvement at the club so can’t really help

I do know the first round coincided with a midlands league weekend. Other than that I am in the dark

I do hope they do try to defend the cup they won last year. The final v Hornsea was an awesome occasion

Stopped posting when Mosborough moved into the midlands division.

Unfortunately they don’t have a forum like this so still keep an eye on this one

Where has everyone gone to??

Nice to meet you yesterday Steve

Glad you thought the report was representative enough of the game to nick most of it for your Facebook page ( you could have at least corrected the spelling mistake ). 😂

Good luck to all your lads for next season. They deserve all the luck they can get

Yorkshire 4 / Yorkshire Vase Final
« on: May 14, 2023, 05:23:39 PM »
Hornsea 17 Mosborough 20

Wow!! What a game that was

Early try for Mosborough who had the best of the initial exchanges. However an almost length of the field interception brought Hornsea level and changed the game

Hornsea took control for the rest of the first hall and much of the second to lead 17 -7 with ten minutes to go

A combination of fresh legs, yellow cards and a big pitch saw Mosborough come back into it towards the end

Mosborough turned down a couple of kickable penalties and it looked like Hornsea would hang on for probably a deserved win

However a converted try in the 80th  minute and a penalty with the last kick of the game brought the scores level

Sudden death extra time followed which was fairly even. Mosborough had more possession but also has to put in a couple of last ditch try saving tackles

A penalty with two minutes to go was kicked to give Mosborough the win

Great win for Mos in what is seemingly their last game in the Yorkshire leagues as they move to Derbyshire leagues next year

Nice to see both teams mixing at the end and cheering on a Leeds comeback victory v Hemsworth

Today Mosborough had a HWO in the semi final of the Yorkshire vase

This is their sixth HWO this season

I have no longer any involvement in Mosborough other than occasional support but it seems they will travel all over Yorkshire every other week but travelling to the far reaches of south Sheffield seems beyond teams

I know some of their players and understand their frustration

Anyway good luck in the final

A top prediction HITR.

Interesting to see the reaction from Rotherham. I reckon they need 9 points from three games to guarantee the title

Well done Hornsea!!

Agree with wins for Aireborough and Mosborough (if the games take place)

Almost a title decider at Rotherham. I can see Halifax winning their last three games whereas Rotherham could drop points in their remaining games

Best two teams in the division so good luck to both but I’m sticking with my early season prediction of Rotherham……. Just!!

Another home game for Mosborough that turns into a HWO

Not getting to watch much rugby at the moment. Disappointing

I predicted Rotherham would run away with the league so fair play to Halifax for keeping up with them. Might even venture across to watch when the two of them meet in a few weeks

To this week

Halifax v OO’s
Halifax to keep up the pressure but might be close

Hessle v Stocksbridge
Long way to travel which definitely affects availability therefore fancy Hessle in another close game

Hornsea v Rowntrees
Another home win but will be very tight

Knaresborough v York RI
Away win by a few

Mods v Rotherham
Not much chance of an upset here Rotherham by more than a few

Mosborough v Aireborough
I think Mosborough will turn around the recent away defeat but will need to improve the amount of line out ball they get

It is disappointing when teams call off at late notice. Went to watch Mosborough last week only to find Knaresborough had not travelled

Last game I saw was when Halifax came down ( with a large contingent) . I missed the first twenty minutes when Halifax threatened to run amok. After that seemed a fairly even game

Having to watch the international in front of tv this afternoon

Certainly a result I wasn’t expecting well done to Halifax

Went to watch Mosborough yesterday.

Thought the result slightly flattered what wasn’t the strongest  Mosborough side with a bit of good fortune leading to tries

To be fair to Nestle they probably had more of the ball but maybe not the territory and the 9 and 10 played really well

Another decent win without a bonus point which could prove costly at the end of the season

Also well done to JB on working out how to create a new post

Think Rotherham home  fixtures are dictated by Rotherham rufc  and therefore they have approval

Could be wrong though
