I arnt going to mention the players name but a quick glance at the yorks discipliniary page will make it quite obviouse who ssid player was

Im not gonna get into a he said she said debate, to be honest i cant be arsed now seasons over but the comments about who were 1st players(returning) and 2nd llayers came from your guys not us, i will play against whoever is put in front of me

As for teams fielding players who usually play higher, it happens, it cant be policed and as far as im aware isnt against any rule so we will take this on the chin my only concern with sides folding teams is surely the lowest side, in your case 3rds should be folded in this scenario not ghe 2nds, at our club if we cancel a game due to low player numbers the lowest team, in our case 3s would be called off before the 2nds so the highest level teams are fielded but this is only my view on how it should work

You came with 12 if i remember rightly and gave a good game of it, always enjoyable playing wpl, always physical :) :)

Im gonna ignore the high shot comments cos we all know were rugby league lads and in this game anything above the nipples seems to be called high these days and people complain every week about us but were used to that by now, our reputation preceeds usftp://

Hope to see you next year albeit i probs went be playing unless i can find a super quick remedy for a balled up back

To be fair, the committee seemed to have identified the problem is predominantly with the higher leagues. I think we all know which clubs too. How often have we seen K47 on here looking for fixtures because their merit opposition have done one?
WPL sacking off their 2nds but retaining 3rds/4ths - contrary to the rules of the league.

Was on the end of a hammering at wpl at end of year due to this

Supposed to play 3rds but wpl openly admitted it was 2nd/1st squad, poor form

Ohhhh and they played a banned player but ill keep his name to myself

Played on selbys pitch last saturday, was in good condition

dry as a bone but not much grass though

must have tipped it down for that to be unplayable

Scrum halves dont feed, its the lumbering front rowers pushing early and not square that make it look like we feed ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

Selby 3s 12-26 cas 2nds

Really enjoyable game that was 12 apiece up to last 15 mins when injury forced a change of pitch and the break seemed to suit us better than it did selby

Credit to selby on fielding a proper 3rd team when there 1st n i believe 2nds had no game and they are sitting at the bottom of the league

Also all at cas send thanks to the selby physio team for looking after rich until the air ambulance arrived, again a credit to selby and not enough thanks can be given

Great facililities aswell, the new clubhouse is very impressive

Thanks to the knottinly guys for how they dealt with the situation today an absolute credit to the club and yorkshire rugby

Just left nathan in the hospital with his missus, hes in good spirits, he has broken both bones in his lower leg so will be staying in tonight until tommorrow when he will be moved to leeds for corrective surgery and the long road to recovery will begin

Once again thanks to all from both sides but especially knottingly who proved rivalries aside they are a credit to the game

Thank you also to the ref for quickly dealing with the situation and agreeing to abandon the game no questions

Trees 9-18 cas 2s

Really onjoyed todays game over in york

Proper rugby played by two teams that gave everything in horrible conditions more suited to swimming than rugby, credit to all for making it happen when it could easily have been a washout

Top hospitality as always, look forward to the return

P.s get gourselves back in yorks 5 youve got a great side there youre wasted in this league

Shirt filler

22-18 it finished, great game on a big pitch, too much running

Yes pomf

Narrow 22-18 loss but no complaints from me looked like the usual sandal 3rd team from what i can remember, maybe a few 2nd team players but i couldnt care was very enjoyable

Great game with a little bit of handbags from both teams but sandal were the better team

Managed to speak to bren, good guy although maybe a bit embarrassed about the huge bite this week, made sure he got his balls back and next year ill take a pump to blow em up ;D

Took along 2 of our under 17s for there 1st senior outing and was very impressed

thanks for the "some still capeable comment" im sure a few of the guys will appreciate that

we play sandal 3rds this weekend and is always a competitive game at their place but i know they have been struggling this year

do their 2nds have a game this week or are we gonna be put to the sword by a select 2nd + some 3rds team

i will let you know on saturday

Spent my early years playing rugby league, growing up in castleford this was always going to be the case, only to cross codes when i reached 20 when a lad i worked with convinced me to go play for west leeds (i didnt even know cas had a union club at that point) but also this summer went back and played league again, 1st time in 14 long years

the thing i noticed straight away with union and is still true to this day that there is more emphasis on the technique of the tackle not so much the severety of the impact :'( :'(

now i can only really speak from a backs point of view, and most if not all of my backline still play league in the summer and they all say the same thing

1. the tackle impact in union is softer (maybe because of the reduced distacne between the teams)
2. its harder to tackle round the legs (rl style) when youve got bodies everywhere and if your on the floor theres still a fair chance some lumbering back rows studs may still find their way towards you

now the last one is very important because as we are all used to people running straight as soon as a player/player doesnt it leads to frustration and a change of balance and when your moving at speed and the initial reaction is to stick arm out i think this is where the stiff arm/shoulder comes into play, its not deliberate its clumsy and uneducated and unless its properly coached will continue in the game

i hear it a lot from opposition at cas, YOUR JUST A BUNCH OF LEAGUE BOYS, you tackle wrong and you tackle hard, well yes we are, but aparently we also run the ball wrong because we like to run not kick but thats another story in itself

Once got told that "This is union not league your centres are tackling too hard" maybe its percepion of a leage area but i do believe that when teams play cas they expect and accept that its going to be a tough physical brusing experience
