York were the best Y1 team we played last year, we got a draw at home and were well beaten away, lost both matches to brid but both were very close games that could have gone either way, unfortunately the same happened 2 weeks ago when we lost the game on the last play with the conversion taking away the draw 
I remember the York 13/winger was a very good player, line-out was best in the league and we got pushed around with their scrum, although Heaths was much harder. Last season we always were shocked to hear they had lost to teams we just didn't think they were capable of losing to.
As for the availability thing, if you're getting paid then fair enough if you're an amateur and are expected to devote what was for us something like 36 weekends last year to rugby and 38 the year before without the missus giving you an ear bashing then you are pretty lucky.

best second rows i have played against were Yorks, organised good runners and best lineout in the league IMO. agree with salems 6&8 brods american prop was a good player, that 13/winger that plays for york was class, made sam look silly

jared payne a bit of a strange one... personally think Ringrose was worthy... also think Moriarty/Halfpenny were lucky and conversley Launchbury must be gutted, thought he deserved it probably a bit more than Lawes... and not overly surprised haskell isnt in there but through he would have been a great person to have on the tour.

really hard position to pick for... in terms of line-out Kruis is the best in europe IMO so when available very difficult to not pick him, also makes an awesome combo with itoje who can play 6 as well if needed. Then you have AWJ who Gatland loves and considers a leader and recent form aside was always going to pick him as he knows him so well... so you are left with one spot and for me 3 contenders Lawes, Launchbury, Gray who i think are similar in many ways... I would take Lawes based on his nasty edge which makes him a stand out of those 3 ... Gray tailed off in the 6N, Launchbury just very unlucky... probably more ot do with personality than rugby playing ability... having said that dont be surprised if he takes Jake Ball or Charteris... had good tournaments although their club sides have been dire and Charteris is still lacking game time, being Welsh is their main attribute
