Sad to say it, but the RFU have really made a mess of this one. Teams not even included on the original fixtures, and so many walkovers.

There’s a real opportunity at the end of it in the finals, such a shame really
Indeed they have.
They were told at the focus groups that clubs didn't want it  but no, they thought they knew best and kept insisting the clubs requested it - they didn't.
They've shafted community club rugby.

Look at the state of these HWO’s and AWO’s…. Absolute travesty really!

Hopefully they’ll get it right next season - there is clubs out there wanting to be involved and actually make this cup a success rather than shambles

Oh most definitely. Lots of clubs didn’t say a word and it was just decided. Very poor organising

Ripit
totally agree with you. Thats why I as chair stopped several of our old boys from going to ask the question about disallowing the try. We always try to make the refs welcome to Ribb and ensure its not an intimidating place to come to. Frustrating as it is we move on and wish him well.
Given what we at Ribb and our friends at Selby have had to cope with these last 10 days. A wrong call from the ref pales into insifnifigance.

Read the last paragraph of your post . Absolutely devastating.
Baildon RUFC stand by Selby & Ribb at this very sad time!

Came off second best to a well drilled and very fit £aildon side 20- 39 yesterday after trying to play too much Rugby when the conditions warranted a steadier approach. A decent set piece and great discipline this week, just a few too many loose balls and inability to react to the sharper visitor counters. £aildon a side going places if the coach and cash hold out.

As per the the comments made by referee, Ribb and Baildon players on the day, it was a definite accident and unfortunate rugby incident, nonetheless a painful one and again the one thing Baildon wouldn't condone is an act of foul play, however this was not one!

As said - the community ( jury ) will decide - and evidently so far, it’s clear that this was an accident and a very silly post by flaggy -

Anyways, best of luck to all for the final game ( or in our case games ) of the season - it’s been a belter

First things first, clearly by my name I'm associated to the Baildon club.

I often stay quiet nowadays but I can't stand by while you accuse one of the least malicious rugby players I've ever met of complete rubbish.

The incident itself, while unfortunate and nobody wants to see anyone injured, was seen clearly within 4 yards of the referee, who saw it clearly and described it as an unfortunate but painful accident and didn't even give a penalty. In fact your players quipped back saying "it may be an accident but that doesn't stop it hurting!" Clearly they saw no foul play occur so I'd suggest before hurling insults, you speak to the people whose view wasn't blocked by the mass of rugby players and that this post is purely sour grapes, despite your plea of innocence on this matter, this is clearly inspired by the sour taste in your mouth.

Baildon had 2 players with broken limbs after the return fixture pre Christmas and you never saw any accusations made on here. As I say noone at Baildon is pleased with the news that the player is injured, but this was caused by two players committed to get the ball back for their team and unfortunately our 7 went to play the ball with his feet and the North Ribb lad jumping on it as I'm sure our coach would have preferred our player to do, but instincts are instincts and the result is unfortunate, but purely accidental as commented on by referees and players on the pitch at the time!

I wish a speedy recovery to the flanker injured and I'm sure if grievances are genuine within the club, direct communication could be made rather than someone asking for "a little repsect" showing none whatsoever. Maybe it's time you hung up your flag, as you seem to have lost the plot.

Hullensians deserved the 14-5 today.

Mistakes by both sides, and the game could of gone either way….the score doesn’t reflect the competitive game that was played.

Credit to Hullenisans. The hospitality was exemplary.

We’ve had a tough start to life in Yorkshire 2…. But we’ve now played 2 teams ( Keighley and Hullensians ) who dropped a division … and our other fixture was against Northallerton… a top of the table finishing team pre-COVID.

All I will say is, Yorkshire 2 is a very competitive league, but most importantly , more than anything… it’s great to be back playing competitive rugby… week in, week out… and seeing smiles on faces after an 18 month lay off.

Interesting season ahead… we all go again next week

Yours in rugby

Bradders is most definitely a veteran and can still make an impact and mix it  in Y1 at Salem for sure...best advice I could give to wibsey is don’t bring in rugby league lads and don’t spend pennies...
You’ve got a great set of lads who are fantastic players and you will go far.

DISCIPLINE was wibsey’s downfall last year.... if you keep 15 men on the pitch for the majority of next season, you’ll be one of the frontrunners for sure.

Bar the discipline last season you were one of the best teams in Y3.... sort that and your going places.

Wibsey have signed a couple of young lads from our RL side, a Jamaican RL international, a second team prop from a Halifax based club and a lad from Bradford uni.
We finished the season well but are definitely in need of one or two more if are going to compete at the top.

A Couple of players  have left, most noticeably veteran prop John Bradbury who returns to Bradford Salem. John still remains a friend of ours and we thank him for his service.

Yorkshire 3 / Re: Season Suspended
« on: March 16, 2020, 06:49:41 PM »
RFU statement:
Following government advice, the RFU will suspend all rugby activity in England, at both professional and community level.

Rugby activity includes club training, league and cup matches plus rugby education courses from 17 March until 14 April subject to continued review.

The decision has been taken following government advice in the interests of players, coaches, referees, volunteers, supporters and the wider rugby union community.

Where possible, players at all levels are encouraged to maintain their own personal fitness and keep active during this time, while following government guidelines about safe distance and safe exercise environments.

The RFU will continue to review and monitor government advice and will provide detailed updates on the impact to the season in the coming weeks.

We’re already onto the 9th May with games to be played... this suspension would mean the season finishing Saturday 6th June if it was to resume on the weekend of 18th April .

Can’t see that happening.

It’s been a blinder gents 👍

I can't believe you'd sully Luciana's good name Faffde! I think it's pretty clear for all to see that Knottingley would have staged a late comeback in the league and won it by miles so the only reasonable thing to do is present us with the Yorkshire 3 trophy after this all blows over. Everyone in Knottingley is also immune to Coronavirus due to it being scared of coming to Knottingley, so we're safe.

Love it 👍👍🤣

Whatever happens is now in the hands of the RFU.
It’s been an enjoyable one if it does get pulled

Post on another division forum claiming the two games postponed in Y3 was due to quarantined players, can anyone confirm from any of these clubs? Either way I think the season is done, all that remains to be seen is how the promotion/relegation scenarios are played out.

This is true, baildon game called off due to a skipton player in quarantine.
Best option would be to finish the league, even if it runs into June.... and possible delay start of next season to the 1st October.... maybe scrap the cup for 1 season.
Surely league fixtures mean more than the cup, it’s what we play for all season

I think grottingley would be better placed to make the step up .... baildon would need to splash even more cash and buy a decent pack , it got smashed all over the pitch by wibsey's, not sure what the backs are like as the 10 doesn't like passing it's out wide

Funny that ‘too old too slow’.
I seem to recall we beat you 38-18 on your own patch.... oh and also beat you 22-17 at our place.

Plus you have at least 6 lads from Salem playing for you. There not going to drop down to Y3 from Y1 for the fun of it. I smell hypocrisy a little 🤣🤣.

Oh and you’ve either been eating Sour Grapes or a $hit Sandwich.

Back to the cheque book for you men next season.

Alt’ Best x

Baildon down to 13 at one point but we held strong to get the result..
Had a good catch up with some of the LC players after the game and what a fantastic bunch of fellas!!!

It’s going to be an interesting end to the season, absolutely wide open at the top!

Enjoy the evening gentlemen
