sorry to have missed you today. Would have been good to make your acquaintance. Well persevered to your lads in the match. Thought the two main differences with respect were, from you Poor tackling and from us pace and some clinical finishing. We are blessed at the moment with lots of good local players all under 21. Long may it continue but the bubble will eventually burst.
Wishing Pythons all the best for the rest of the season. A good club who are a bit down at the moment but who I am sure will rise again shortly.
Unfortunately I had to shoot straight off as I was working and it’s a long drive back with the A59 shut at Kex Gill.

Always up against it today but proud of the lads who did pull on a shirt for the Pythons. I went through and counted 38 players who have played for the 1st team so far this season unavailable for some reason or other. 5 debutants and a couple of older returning players got us a squad to put out but a couple of late drop outs left us only one not very versatile and nowhere near match fit sub (me). It's the worst availability crisis I can remember in my 12 years at the club but we were always committed to fulfilling the fixture. The scoreline is what it is but we never gave up and fought right up until the very end to get the last word on the scoreboard. We will use the spirit and commitment from our 16 players today as a platform to build from for the remainder of the season.
From a North Ribb view I think it shows the strength in depth they have that they were able to be missing a few players themselves and still be that clinical and cohesive. Sometimes actually bringing in a few fresh faces for a game you're expected to win easily does you a favour as those lads really drive the enthusiasm and obviously want to make their mark to produce selection headaches. They are a strong team across all areas of the pitch and it will take a bloody good team and performance to end their unbeaten run, I suspect they may not find that opposition until next season in the league above.

Pocklington v Wath Upon Dearne - Pock excellent at home, would be interesting to see how many times they have lost in Y1 last 2 years at home... can't be many. Maybe Salem turned them over there last year? +7 Pock
North Ribb this season. Salem and Leos last season.

Thank you for the offer but I’m propping up the bench this week so you can wave/shout abuse at me from the balcony. Supposed to be working at 5pm so will likely have to shoot straight off after the game.

« on: January 15, 2025, 01:44:41 AM »Beverley v Hullensians - Beverley to win this, not quite a full strength with the best fullback in the league out with a lengthy injury, but hopefully running a clean bill of health apart from that. if they are i can see the big pitch being an advantage. Bev -7
Bridlington v Old Rishworthian - Brid imports shipped off, Old Rich still getting no ROI, pre season would have looked like a hell of a game, but now Brid, just, in a low quality affair Brid - 7
North Ribblesdale v Harrogate Pythons - Rib +7
Pocklington v Wath Upon Dearne - Pock +7
Wensleydale v Leodiensian - Dale to have fun against a small leo's pack - Dale +7
West Leeds v Keighley - Keith Lee to walk this +7
New South African 10 signed up for Old Rish for the rest of the season. Played a good standard youth level for Sharks and Bulls so be interested if he has a big impact on their run in.

Beverley v Hullensians - game of the round for me. Both teams full of confidence wanting to keep their good form going and a derby to boot. If both at full strength I think Beverley will edge a close one at home. Bev -7
Bridlington v Old Rishworthian - an absolute must win for both teams. Brid a different side at home and Rish tend not to travel too well so reckon Brid will pinch some much needed points. Brid -7
North Ribblesdale v Harrogate Pythons - I’m sure everyone will be expecting a one sided affair here and it will be up to us to raise our game significantly from the previous encounter. Ribb a team with no real weaknesses so we will have to be at our very best in all areas. I’ll likely be with the 2’s so won’t get to experience any of Flaggy’s famous hospitality though. Pythons to pull off the upset of the season, -7
Pocklington v Wath Upon Dearne - should be a bruising contest this one between two very effective sides. I think Pock at home will be too strong though and their backs will be the difference. Pock +7
Wensleydale v Leodiensian - Leo’s really struggling and Dale resurgent. At home as well they should win this one comfortably. Dale +7
West Leeds v Keighley - difficult to see anything other than a BP away win here. Keighley +7

And now that’s off. All games in Y1 postponed, unsurprisingly.

4/6 so far in Y1 with no news from the other games. The telling one for me is Keighley not being playable. Played in minus conditions at Keighley last year and it was pretty much the only fixture on across Yorkshire, so if they are frozen out I can’t see a hope for anyone else.
