November. I was looking forward to it, but I don't see the right level of commitment and I'm struggling to find the willpower to start again.

Not sure K, but the team sheet I saw yesterday was maybe one of the worst I've ever seen. Some wouldn't get in a y2 team.

I'm glad Hartley has got it. Means I'm still in with a chance of being England captain.

Rugby League is really suffering at amateur level I was playing in the Pennine Leagues up until 3 years ago it had 7 divisions of ten teams in each, I believe it has been reduced to four divisions with the top division only having 6 sides? That is a loss of 30+ sides.

Not really true. The Pennine League is a very poorly organised league structure running through the winter. Amateur RL has moved more and more to the summer, and it's fantastic, playing through the better weather. Want a slicker more Southern Hemisphere skills based game? Move it to the "summer".

Did that big pudding play at 10 again for Wheatley BM? One of the worst condition fly halves I've ever seen.

I deleted it. Tried to modify it fairly but it went wrong. Sorry K!

How's he getting on at Union ?

Don't know if he's managed a full game without falling asleep.

Kevin then added further: "However having said that I realise there is a better ways of measuring the success of a rugby club then the position of the first team in a league pyramid in the which the average rugby punter has no idea of the difference between levels 3 and 9! League position seems to be the obsession of a tiny number of people who do not have the breadth of vision to identify real success. For example having 60 players at under 6s alone in most peoples eyes would be a sign of meeting the potential and goals of a club. I therefore promise never to make silly statements like my second one ever again. And finally, I now accept that rugby league is a girls game and union is played by virile stallions of which I can only aspire to! "

Kevin, 36, added, "it's just a shame to see the first XV at such a well set-up club not be able to string more than a couple of wins together in a low level league, against opposition barely able to afford paint for their aging clubhouses, let alone run a multi-million pound business that has no competition for players from local clubs."

Without a doubt, I'd maybe have even driven 35 minutes to get there!

Maybe those foundations you've laid in the youth will come to fruition!

I really like Scarborough as a club and think that they have some good people in charge doing the right things in terms of finances being secure and getting kids into rugby. However, after years of this, you'd expect to see some success on the pitch, all those resources, I don't mean to pay players, it's honestly not a requirement for the next 1 or 2 levels. They have under achieved in that aspect, and I think even BRB would need to be honest and say he would have liked to see better progress in that area.

It did get dark very quick towards the at Wheatley on Saturday. With nearly no visibility, a player injured on the ground, a bonus point in the bag for one team and no chance for the other, I did wonder why the ref insisted on playing till the time was up. Couldn't tell who was who by the end, and Hills stand off was bigger than the props so that made viewing even harder.

The laws specify maximum dimensions, not minimum......

Really? So you could play on a 30mtr by 30mtr pitch?

Serious leg injury after 21 minutes to a Castleford player, it took the ambulance an hour and a quarter to arrive - disgusting. First response arrived after 20 minutes and gave Nathan some morphine but he lay on the field, in the driving wind until the ambulance arrived. Just not good enough

I wish those times were accurate, 50 minutes for first responder, the an hour and half for ambulance.

Credit to Knottingley though, stopped with us and bringing cups of tea and sandwiches while we waited and plenty of coats to keep the lad warm. They might get derided for being in a rough area, but they are a proper good club.
