Any thing else? What about clubs blobbing on Friday/Sat. Points deduction, fine or what?

That`s the reason for my earlier post!

As this topic is about Merit Leagues, what are your views. Currently Premier, 1, 2 are leagues and Div 3 & 4 merit tables +north and South(can`t get the results for South).

1. Should premier 1,2,3,4 be leagues, with other teams forming geographical merit tables?
2. Given the number of matches which are called off after Wednesday pm, should clubs pay a retainer to take part?
3. Should clubs loan players?
4. Should extra points be given to clubs if they play an away fixture?
5. Should games be allowed to start with uncontested scrums if there are not enough players in the front row?

Comments please.

Junior Rugby has been successfully developed at Old Rishworthians. Even though we are only in the 7th season we now have Minis at U6, U7, U8, U9 U10, and Junior U11, U12, U13, U14 U15 and U17. The clubs success over the last three years has been assisted by 12 former U17 players moving into the first team. Without a mini and junior section clubs will find it difficult to obtain players, we do as there are 5 other Rugby Union clubs in Calderdale + 5 Rugby League clubs + football. On Sundays it is very busy with over 180 children training and playing. There that`s got us back on track.

Well I think that Skipton will win this contest. Based on DP`s performance last weekend it could be close, but the Skippy backs are useful.

I have happy memories of us playing at Thornensians in September 2000. We won 104-7. Hooray

Frozen Pitch at 9.00am that`s the 6th match to be postponed. What`s going to happen to the leagues when real winter comes in February?

The representatives from Yorkshire are the winners of the Silver Trophy and Shield Competitions. Last season West Park Leeds were beaten in the semis by Dunlop and Bramley Phoenix reached Twickenham but were beaten by Teddington.
This seasons representatives are Bridlington (Winners of Shield) and Old Rishworthians (winners of Silver Trophy. Matches take place on Feb 12th and 26th.

Agree with other comments that the RFU Cup Competition was good when playing clubs from other CB`s and reaching Twickenham. A wonderful day at HQ when Halifax and Heath played there. Yorkshire Clubs have been very successful in the competitions.

Yes Vole I am and we have a mini and Junior section which has only been ruuning for 6 years. 200+ players on a Sunday morning, but as we started from a base of about 12 players its not bad!

As someone who can look up to the other 13 teams, Yorkshire 2 has been a steep learning curve. The majority of the teams in the division have not dropped into Y3 but have fluctuated between Y1 and Y2. Practically all of the teams have junior sections and some are 'town' teams. An enjoyable experience and the clubs we visit are very welcoming. Hope clubs think that we reciprocate.

Bloody Hell, didn`t see all that snow coming - nor did the bloke from York who freewheeled into my parked car this morning.

Matches in Halifax looking decidedly dodgy for tomorrow.
