We have been trying to pull together a 2nd XV for the last year and now have enough players. We would like a fixture this Saturday.

We would prefer to play away this week and keep the travel down to half an hour.

Anyone interedted, please PM me your fixtures sec's number.

We will be trying the Pool aswell tonight.

I am going to lock the voting next friday, before the League games start.  Then we will be able to see how accurate the predictions were.

There are quite a few people who have only voted for one team, make sure you get your second vote in.

Yorkshire 5 / Who will gain promotion from Yorkshire 5 in 2011/12

Who do you think will finish in the top 2 this season and get promoted?

Everyone gets two votes.  Try to vote for the clubs you think will be promoted and not just your own club (unless you honsetly think they will be in the top 2).

Yorkshire 5 / Changes to Replacements
« on: August 02, 2011, 02:44:02 PM »
See below, changes to the Replacements Regulations.

How does everyone think the rolling subs will effect the games and what do you think of the increase to 5 subs?  Will it have an effect on the final league standings?

Rolling Replacements” at Levels 9 and below in league games.

1. At Level 9 and below, up to a maximum of 5 players may be named as replacements and players will be allowed to “roll on and roll off” on an unlimited basis, to hopefully maintain 15 players a side on the field of play at all times, other than when the game has moved to uncontested scrums when the side causing the uncontested scrums plays with 1 player fewer.

2. There is no compulsion to have 5 replacements and sides do not have to have equal numbers of replacements.

3. Replacements will be made, with the referees permission, at stoppages of play other than at penalty and free kick situations, to make sure that a replacement doesn’t come on to the field of play simply to take a kick at goal and then be replaced again.

4. The requirement to have one replacement front row player within the squad is still necessary, so that at the first time of asking a side can replace a front row player in order that the game carries on with contested scrums.

5. This rule is not intended to encourage clubs to pick the maximum number of replacements for league games to the detriment of turning out a second or third XV.

Scully wasnt there, he is on holiday, but he helped me to get the lads from Wheatley to come.

I'll be at DVC most of this week, so can arrange to get it to you.

Forgot to metion the Barbarians Team.  We had a side drop out on Saturday and pulled together a side on late Saturday afternoon/evening and pulled a few more in on Sunday.  They were unbeaten untill the final, so did exceptionally well considering.

Thanks to all the lads that played in the BaaBaas for helping out at short notice and Dave Scully who helped me find some of the players.

Bakewell were very good all day and finished the day unbeaten.  They had some quick lads playing for them.

Their 1st team plays in Midlands 2 East (North), which is Level 7, equivalent to Yorkshire 1.

I would just like to thank all the teams, players, coaches, referees, volunteers, spectators and everyone who came along to the South Yorkshire 7's today.  I hope you really enjoyed the day and some of the great rugby on show.

Congratulations to Bakewell Mannerians for winning the Cup Competition and Thorne on winning the plate competion.
