BRB from what I know of Blackburn. They have kept themselves at their level for the past say 10 years by paying players who would definately not get paid in Y1. There was a lad from Giggleswick school where my son was vice skipper who could not command a place in what was a competitive school side that was next year paid enough money a game to question the sanity of doing so by those who knew him and his standard of play up until that time. Maybe he improved a lot, but the point I am trying to make is that in a football dominated town, it appears that to maintain a level rugby union clubs have to pay players to attract them and then maintain a level that many of us in Y1 enjoy without benefactors supporting players fees at a level that most of us enjoy without paying boys to enjoy themselves on a Saturday afternoon and be part of a progressive amateur sporting local organisation.
That being the case don't worry what you hear about payments at Blackburn. With home advantage you should in my opinion keep progressing towards a day out at Headquarters.

Here here, sometimes there are as many people behind the scenes doing voluntary work as there are players. Long May that continue as it sends a good message, out especially to the young players that, doing something for nothing is a good thing.

Vic my old friend!!
It has been will documented on here that we have had a very debilitating injury list this season and yes eventually we have a few wounded soldiers coming back from injury.
Yes we have had the return of one of our old boys from North Korea (wharfedale) he lives less than 200 yards from our club and he's been their first choice fullback for the last 10 years when not injured. He has lifted morale but the single biggest change is that ALL the players have kept together and firmly believe we are not one of the two worst teams in the league. However the table doesn't lie ( you can only play who is available with no real excuses)and it is up to everyone to keep the momentum going and get Ribb to where we believe we should be. We were many years ago given the opportunity to move over to what we perceive to be the easier west side and certainly less travel. But respectfully declined the "easy" option as we strongly wish to remain in what we believe to be the strongest county league in the North of England if not the country. Long may it continue with several more wins in the next seven games

Sorry to have missed you yesterday. Trust you were looked after in the normal manner at Ribb. I tppk the wife to Paris for her birthday and by coincidence tje Scotland game was on. Ribbs performance has been aong time coming and let's hope we can kick on again in the next few weeks and keep our survival hopes alive. Pn a positive note the Ribb lads were very happy with the communication yesterday. Given some of the other posts I just wanted to report positively.
