Are these going ahead now that the RFU is pulling the plug on its £50m AGP scheme?

I hope so.
Rugby should be played on grass.

What was it, 50-60 pitches across the whole of the country??
So they decide to install 3 of them within 15 miles of each other - and at grounds with no serious pitch shortage and completely at odds with the selection criteria.

Begs the question....

It certainly does beg a question. First tranche seemed to be chosen behind closed doors and with no rationale of why they were allocated.
I see Penrith are getting one - what I’d the catchment area for that apart from Penrith I and Ii’s.

Correct me if I am wrong but don't all these clubs have close connections to the RFU with RDOs etc. They may lose their jobs soon due to restructuring but I think that keeping people with skills and experience in and around the local community attracting young people to play our game is money better spent than say 60 3/4G pitches at an approx cost of £650k apiece equates to £39million. That's a lot of guys at a cost of (say) £40kpa cost of employment over the next five years. its actually 195 people. Surely that's better investment than 60 pitches. Maybe I am wrong but 5% of the total pitches within 15 miles of each other seems disproportionate to me.

The problem flaggy is ..... the people employed by the RFU in middle/ lower hierarchy lounge lizard managerial forward planning outreach and diversity outposts are university educated individuals spawned by chinless privileged half wits. If this programme involved their own personal monies the squidgy mess we are now witnessing wouldn’t have occurred . The RFU is still an old boys network.... Get jezzer involved he can bring mass distribution of wealth to us poor downtrodden luddites .

Get Jezzer and his sidekick involved and they will sort out all the RFUs problems. The only problem we will have then is that the RFU will be £3billion in debt with no prospect of being sustainable. Then all the jobs really would be in jeopardy. But they would think that's clever.

The following AGP's are currently taking bookings from the RFU web site (16 in total)

I don't know which others are being built or at the planning stage.

I thought Yarnbury had overcome their planning problems with the Airport over the floodlights. Not sure why it is not progressing.
I thought Old Brods had been rejected because the cost of levelling the pitch was too high.

Hmm
Hornets is another club that already had good pitches, the 1st team pitch in particular.
They also installed it pretty quick, still I'll see tomorrow as I'm down there.

Mammary man and mister no knowledge

I think you may be mistaking me for someone who cares what you two say . We have  nothing at all on common and neither of you understand the comeradship of rugby . You both come across as beng a tad unpleasant  whilst hiding behind the ‘ got a bite ‘ claptrap . ( and you are both dull)
My job offer holds as you seem to be particularly qualified to man my complaints dept .
