BEASTS FROM THE EAST
« on: September 02, 2018, 05:28:06 PM »
Yes folks it the competition within a competition all of Yorkshire is talking about - who will be Beasts from East title holder at the end of the season. With Bridlington, Malton, Driffield, Scarborough and Pocklington all in the same division a mini league is the obvious result.

I will try and keep track of each time one of the 5 play each other and update this league.

THERE IS A BIG PRIZE AND TROPHY ON OFFER.

[The first number is BFE matches played and the second is the usual match points gained]

1. Scarborough    8 - 27   CHAMPIONS
2. Driffield        8 - 26
3. Pocklington    7 - 21
4. Malton           8 - 14
5. Bridlington     7 - 11

Don't York just about deserve a place in this ? After all Malton and Scarborough in NY county.

I'd thought about it....and it wasn't an East Yorkshire thing it was East of the county. I suppose you have to draw the line somewhere. Geographically I think it would be fair to call York central?

Although im easy....

He doesn't want Scarborough to finish a place lower!

Yes, I had wondered if the likely strength of York had led to them being excluded, but then if a weakened Brid can beat BRB's club then they are hardly going to be competing for the top prize in this mini league anyway surely?

Lol....nice comeback

I'd be interested to hear the name of the missing Brid players so we know which ones you claim are not good enough for you.

When players leave ...the ones that are left ARE your club . Maybe you guys at Brid need to respect a bit more your local players who are giving their all for your club.

I agree.

Your argument is basically the same as saying Morley should be in the Championship because they used to have better players...

Scarborough play Driffield, Malton and Brid all at home prior to Christmas so there will be plenty of opportunity for the table to evolve.

Must win games for Driffield, Pocklington and Malton this weekend in relation to league, and probably in the race to be beast from the east. approx 20 points behind
Scarborough and others would already be too much to make up.
