Full house for Scarborough against Malton.... victories for 1st, 2nds and 3rd. Satisfying as that is, it more rewarding to know that both local clubs put three sides out.
Loving all rugby but especially at grassroots level.

York should be congratulated for selling both their hospitality tables! Presumably the family and friends of the various loan players have swelled the ranks?? Make sure they know what colour York play in! ????

Full blooded derby between 2 old rivals today with Pock deserved winners. York’s injury woes continued with losing talisman Fox in the second minute, however Pocks urgency a nd desire was stronger on the day , earning a bonus point win for Sean Bass on his return to Clifton Park.
Big crowd today in festive spirit, should be record bar takings today !
Happy days for the joint body!!

Scarborough won 40odd to 20odd. Long rain showers treated Malton to a few points.
No doubt Malton will be suitably ashamed of themselves!

Mmm Scarborough’s tactics in the second half treated Malton to a few points. I have so enjoyed Scarborough’s adventure and high tempo play this season with off loads and flip passes and sleight of hand........but we need to accept sometimes this has to go and we need to play teritory and the percentages against team like Malton and not take too many risks in our third. Play in their half
Brid will come next week with more of the same pick and go driving play and we need to counter this if we are to beat them.
Don’t lose the adventure.... just make sure it’s at the right time and place.
That said great win today despite some worrying times in the second half. The score flattered Malton who were allowed to gain field position to enable them to play to their strength
When the second seal was opened another horse came out, a fairy red one. Its rider was given power to take the p*ss from the earth and to make men lay with each other. To him was given a large ego.

Keep importing rugby refugees from the Southern Hemisphere and soon you will be able to put 4 teams out! There is nothing money cant buy!

We will see how many of the wealthy Skinflint Scarbarians support a pre match function at York, not many I predict because they will be asked to dig into their very deep pockets, with their very short arms!

Agreed Porkies and there was good spirit and socialising in the bar afterwards, proper amateur rugby clubs enjoying a derby day, the emphasis on Rugby, not money making!
Something which I suspect Scarborough have left behind in the pursuit of full professionalism!

Keep them coming DDA - I can see that you're hurting. You'll feel so much better after getting it all off your chest.

I enjoyed a run out to Malton this morning when the Scarborough mini section took over the Gannock in mass numbers. It should be noted that we only have so many minis and juniors as each one of them is paid £40 a match to play, Its working.

I read recently that the lowest mean wages in the country are in Scarborough so it’s no wonder you get lots of kids on a Sunday for 40 quid. I bet their mums and dads are forcing them to go to make up the family income.

I did wonder if it was East Yorkshire immigrants from across the border in Bridlington who had forced the wages down as they migrated for the much vaunted better life in the North Ridings premier resort but it now seems the quality of life may be better further down the coast with more opportunity to earn a living wage.

Bummairdere

It is so upsetting to find another Scarborough supporter who appears to be able to “ give it” but fails to handle it in reverse.
I was just summarising what was in the national news a few weeks ago regarding the place you may regard as the centre of the universe, and asking if the reason Scarborough had so many juniors was as stated by Back Stage Bumble they paid them £40 a game, which if the former is correct would undoubtedly help with the family finances in such a low wage place.

I must admit however that there does not appear to be any financial constraints at the “jolly old rugger club” as today BRB was watching yesterday’s incident on FULL HD whilst he enjoyed his morning coffee in the NEW coffee bar.

Oh heck I’ve just had a thought, but no that couldn’t be the answer, or could it? Was he not telling the truth and exaggerating, just a little bit, about paying the juniors and taking over The Gannock. I bet that’s not it though because BRB wouldn’t stoop so low would he?
