Seems like this Saturday (22 Dec) has slipped under the Forum's radar. I'm pretty sure that the Driff v Morpeth replay for the game abandonned when the ref was KO'd is this Saturday. The RFU website also has last Saturday's weather postponements of Morley v West Leeds and Consett v York down for this week.

Good spot Percy...

Quite a lot of rugby on....I don't think the players will be over the moon having to play this weekend!
Loving all rugby but especially at grassroots level.

They don’t have to.
Clubs have the choice.

Yes.
See below;

"Dear All.
It has become apparent over the last 2-3 days that the decision of the RFUNCC made in May, to play re-arranged league games on Saturday 22 December has caused major problems with some Clubs.
In view of the requests received from Clubs not to play on Saturday 22 December, we have decided that where requested, Clubs need not play on that date. However, if Clubs do want to play on the 22nd, then they can do so, provided both Clubs agree.
However, in conveying this information to Clubs affected, would you please emphasise that if necessary, outstanding games may be re-arranged for Easter Saturday.
Many thanks."

The mystery remains about where the notification was given/posted though.
So far it seems a secret.

I wonder how Pocklington feel about this, following their points deduction for moving their fixture last season.

No wiggle room when it was only Driff v Morpeth rearranged, HAS to be played, despite the horrendous availability issues, now there's half a fixture card it's been reversed. Standard RFU balls up.

What doesn't help is the uncoordinated communication, the North RFU website does not update its fixtures once they are posted at the beginning of the season. That leaves the RFU website at the go to place for information, and it currently lists for 22 December: Consett v York, Driffield v Morpeth and Morley v West Leeds.

Pock fully accepted the 5 point deduction for not playing on Easter Saturday 2018 (it wasn't just that nearly all our guys played in the Good Friday 7s, which is an official RFU event, our No 8 also got married on Easter Saturday so didn't really want to call that 'match' off), what we struggled to accept is the seemingly arbitary decision to hold the punishment over from the 2017-18 to 2018-19 season.

By my reckoning 19 North Division clubs were deducted points for 2017-18 season indiscretions, 18 of them lost the points last season, just one had the deduction held over to this. No prizes for guessing who.

RFU website is now updated to show Driff v 'Peth as the only game on Sat.

Looking at Morley's website they are clearly not happy about how they've been messed about.

Nice of the North to 'warn' teams not playing this week that they might be made to play on Easter Saturday.

But it seems they are still keeping it a secret as to where their pre-season advice was posted.
