Probably more helpful if someone managed to hear it.

A typical childish reply as often seen on this forum. Seen in a report or heard by someone I think you will find that it is very significant for both the club and the player concerned.

Not seen what was said but know the ban given was 2 weeks for dissent.

Not as childish as your god awful grammar! Oh and your attempts to appear “in the know” 😴

Shortest ban so far this season then (for that offence).

Hideous if true. Lads are being given 4 weeks for high tackles as its in fashion but using dissent to a ref is being given half that.

I know which is the worse offence when considering rugby's traditional values.

I can only guess the dissent is not as horrific as the original poster has made it seem...

- verbal abuse of a referee !....where should we start..?.....
Firstly it's bad manners. It shows a complete lack of respect to someone, without whom our wonderful game simply could not take place.

Referees at our level are ALL volunteers...they receive no fees/wage for refereeing a game...just the normal 40p per mile petrol expenses rate, agreed by HMRC.....- just think about it...40p per mile for what can sometimes be a 5 hour round trip....occasionally getting an earful of abuse....for what is not even the minimum wage !!

Refereeing is a thankless task at the best of times, so to be abused by players or spectators is "offside"....Most referees have played the game themselves, and do understand the players frustrations.

However, in the Crocs game, the referee was a lady. In these "enlightened days" of equality, I guess the punishment should be the same irrespective of gender, but personally (as an old fart over 50 and remember that ladies should be treated kindly and courteously!)  I think the sentence should be more severe, simply because the ref is female.

The RFU is trying to encourage more people to take up the whistle, both male and female, and incidents like this may deter any potential new whistlers.

The ref is a vital part of our game, so after the final whistle, why don't YOU thank him/her for coming to referee the game ?...offer to buy him a pint ?......after all, without them the alternative may be a few hours for us all, at Marks & Spencer in Pudsey !

It's as simple as this...Yorkshire is short of referees....and most are aged 50 +...  So if the bloke next to you starts to shout at the ref, this weekend...ask him to stop...& ask him if he has courage to do this difficult job ?.......it will go very quiet .

Good luck to all players and officials this weekend !

So what was said??
Loving all rugby but especially at grassroots level. Lucky to be involved in England's number one ranked level 7 league...Yorkshire One.

Let's see what Burnsy has to say if things aren't going his way today.

Thought the ref was fantastic today, did well to keep a lid on pretty volatile first half.

Not sure why you'd think I'd be upset at a referee if we'd have lost, I didn't think I was known for that.
