What a great day at Silver Royd, two really good teams on show. YM have a huge pack & use it well, especially against Scarbs today who were missing some key forwards. YM’s scrum & rolling maul caused Scarbs a lot of problems but in open play Scarbs defended superbly.  On reflection a draw would have been a fair result but Scarbs snatched victory at the death with a last minute try. Both teams looked so dangerous in attack with quick backs who moved the ball really well given the blustery conditions. Very young ref who managed the game very well, thought he could have given more ‘holding on’ decisions but he’s a ref & im not, & he was right up with play; so he’s right & im wrong!  Both teams defended so well & im not sure what the difference was today - perhaps Scarbs not switching off at the death & having that self belief. Great advertisement for NE1 ( &Yorkshire ) rugby & on this display you can appreciate why these 2 teams are table toppers

Well they put 29 on you so I wasn't a million miles off! As I said to your President this evening, you should be thanking me for the motivation!

Keep winning please, we've played you twice so you winning is good for us!

Good summary - YM a good side and it took a last play of the game try for us to scrape a win...

An interesting fact from yesterday and a good sign that sportsmanship and inter-club respect is still alive and well is that YMCA left their playing shirts at home.

Not only did we provide them a kit but we bug deep into the shirt store and found them a nearly new black and red kit similar to their own! The only thing I haven't done is check that they all made their way back afterwards yet???!!! We all know what rugby players are like 🤣🤣🤣

This would be an impressive story if YM had thanked you for it. To show off your own generosity.........whatever.

tremendous character shown by York in defence against a good PP side who haven't lost at home in the league for 3 seasons apparently. York were 100% better across the park than in previous weeks game. Unfortunately another serious injury that will warrant an operation (thats 10 ops this season) Sam Forbes compound fracture of thumb. if we can continue with these qualities we shall end mid table which will be a massive achievement given the woeful injury position
