On a serious note, York have got a right scrap on their hands not to get drawn into the bottom three.

have lost a further five players since the new year, two to injury, one to suspension, one to college and Johnno to the swap deal with Hull Ionians. We let Johnno go to help them out, to cover their front row shortages and Ionians loan us an invisible 6'6" white rabbit called Harvey, to replace our injured lock forward!

Typical Senior club, they fill you full of bxxxxxxt and then pxxs on your Strawberries! Will we never learn?

Just to clarify DAA is not a party toarrangements we may or may not have with senior clubs in the area. Any comments he makes are purely as a result of hearsay and should be treated as such.

Just to clarify that I am not party to any arrangements York have with any senior clubs in the area! But the source is!

Doubt that as only 1 person is a party to the actual arrangement

When clubs involved in this sort of "arrangement" are a number of leagues apart, the "arrangement" is only ever going to function in the interests of the club at the higher level.

The main thing to remember is that York is thriving as a good rugby club ; we have blooded several colts in the first team this season, yes , through necessity, but with senior injured players due to return, we would hope to gain enough points to stay up in this competitive league.
Got to admire Scarborough this season, I’m sure we aspire to emulate them but ain’t going to happen this year !

I don’t think Scarborough actively forging deals/bargains/arrangements to allow their first team players to leave for other clubs. Emulating that would be a start.

At the beginning of last season we played at York and got absolutely thumped. The style of play they delivered that day and the pace they did it at was something we wanted to emulate... I think if they had all the same players then I'm sure they would be playing in the same manner.

As for the "loan", I suspect York had no choice in the matter. If a player says he is going there is not a lot that they can do about it other than put on a brave face.

I think most teams are now feeling the heat of injuries and unavailabilities. We are.

Sort of underlines my point about "arrangements ". Been down that road at another club - never a good thing.

I recall a post earlier in the season to the effect that at least one second team player chez Jug was declining the chance to play 1st team rugby. Not the sign of a healthy situation? Don't know of a single Scabs player who would turn down the same chance.

On the flipside it just gives another opportunity for York boys to blood themselves ready for next season, and can only contribute to the long term development of the team. I'm not really sure why it's such a talking point and the over focus almost feels like a scapegoat.

That's my perspective on the situation by the way and not a reply to the quote above.
