Ok back to rugby. This Friday is transfer deadline day and I hear on the grapevine that a lot of last minute activity and movement is happening.... It could make the end of the season very interesting- especially at the foot of the table.

Who is going to escape the drop? Who will frantically recruit to to save their bacon. All will be revealed on Friday afternoon!

BRB think it will be Saturday teatime for me when I will be prepared to give my opinion on the top and bottom of the table. That’s because both fixtures on Saturday will be relevant.

If Morley blow West Leeds away then I will take it they are serious about promotion and Morley have still to play Scarborough, Morpeth and YMCA. If West Leeds win that would be a big boost to their survival hopes.

If York win well against Consett think they will be safe if not York are in the relegation dod fight.

I’ve also heard some of the stories about transfers some sound like fake news, so will wait till any moves are confirmed.

After Saturday I will post my predictions for the top and bottom.

Sounds like some £££ is changing hands at some relegation clubs...

I suspect no more than has already exchanged hands at some of the clubs vying for promotion!

I think it's refreshing to have 4 amateur clubs battling it for promotion.

The big spenders haven't enjoyed a good return on investment this year!

Are you admitting the Scarborough semi professional approach has or is likely to fail?

And so be it..... whoever goes up if they choose to stay fully amateur (as we would if we were fortunate ever to be promoted) and this resulted in swift relegation - then that's sport. Someone has to go down.

BRB. 30+% of your team are overseas players...they just here for a expensive jolly to Scarbados?

Some supporters were happy to admit players were being paid on when I was there earlier in the year! There’s need to be a further cash influx for promotion

And when I was speaking to some of your supporters they informed me your players shared a £1500 a match win bonus....

Just as credible eh?

Where ever we end up in the league will be where we deserve to be ...no more no less. We have achieved our objective for the season with weeks to spare. Anything else is a bonus.

I have said to many people on many occasions, whilst we are near the top we are going to enjoy being here. It may not last but is there any harm in supporters enjoying a bit of success? Scarborough have had precious little to cheer over the last 40 odd years.

We finish the season with the same band of youngsters we started the season with, they are enjoying their rugby and results like last week are felt by everyone in the club. No one has a right to expect win every match. We will lose matches before the end of the season I'm sure, whether we are in the top 2 remains to be seen.

However I can't see Morpeth losing again so they should finish top.

Think West Leeds and Pocks results last week would throw doubt on that (2/3 away games left for MRFC).

Long way to go for one and all with Morley in rear view mirror
