Cleckheaton 24 Morley 29, terrific game, just Morley indiscipline costing them game as they outscored Cleckheaton 4 tries to 3.  4 points for Cleck and 2 points for Morley.

Phew...that was close!

Scarborough did a Morley and set off like a train scoring four tries and securing the bonus point within no time at all. It wasn't as quick as Morley's 15 minutes but it was still good going.

In all honesty Scarborough rarely got out of 2nd gear and we aren't good enough to win matches at that level. PP came back gradually throughout the match keeping the scoreboard ticking over.. eventually they ended up taking g the lead with around 10 minutes to go.

Most people probably still thought Scarborough would come back if only we could shift into a higher gear. Thankfully we did in the last two minutes and scored a 5th try to secure the match.

Tough day. PP a good side clearly playing with the shackles off and that was to their benefit.

Big crowd but a little flat.

We'll refereed.

All three Scarborough teams recorded victory's with the 2nd team putting a big score on Beverley (60 odd I think).

Some interesting results today. Good for Cleck and West Leeds but not good for Brid or Morley (big surprise).

Blackburn romped in easy winners.

Game of 2 halves!! Much like the England Scotland game the other week...

Scarborough playing a very high tempo first half capitalising on PPs mistakes. PP were still sat on their coach trip and it looked like a 60 point game to scarbs.

Second half was a role reversal, PP we’re playing the better rugby and moving the ball well.

Speaking to some Alicadoos in the bar after they were very complimentary of the PP attack when they finally got going.

Not to criticise referees but we couldn’t believe how the scarbs player didn’t get a yellow after that tip tackle on our hooker, ref had his cards out and after a while put them back while he was receiving treatment.

If that had happened and park didn’t get a yellow in the last 5 it could have been one of the comebacks of the season.

For the neutral it would have been a great game to watch!!

York started the game into the breeze and Brid were well up for it from the start. In fact had their goal kicker had his right boots on they could/should have taken a 6 - 0 lead early in the first half. It took York sometime to get going, but when they moved it wide away from the Brid centres (who were impressive), they had a lot more success and managed to butcher two glorious chances to score.

The half time score of 0-0- was probably a reflection on both teams not being able to finish their opportunities.

The second half was a completely different story. York kept the ball in hand more and exploited the space they created out wide. York scoring 4 tries converting 3 and adding a penalty.

Brid never laid down, but we saw the ugly side to their play once the game was lost! one player very fortunate to stay on the pitch after they started a melee, he ran from the full back position at least 20 yards to throw three punches that struck a blind sided York player in the head, luckily he punched like the fairy he is!

Not sure if the game was videoed but York would be justified in citing the Brid player, for his cowardly assault!

Yes on a day of surprises that was another one. Although of recent weeks Consett have improved and YMCA have dropped off so not quite the shock it might have been..

Typical Brid........
When the second seal was opened another horse came out, a fairy red one. Its rider was given power to take the p*ss from the earth and to make men lay with each other. To him was given a large ego.

Scarborough No8 was yellow carded for a “tip tackle” Not that it was a tip tackle. The PP player went nowhere near the vertical. Referees seem to penalise any tackle where a player is lifted off his feet. As for the game I thought more most of the game Scarborough were very flat - both the players and the crowd. I thought Scarborough let PP back into the game somewhat by playing too much risky rugby in the wrong areas of the pitch instead of looking for territory and possession. On the more positive side yet again Scarborough never stopped trying and turned a game they could have lost into a vital win. Malton will be a tough trip and Scarborough will need to be focused for the full 80 minutes and be willing to change tactics when necessary.

Ym had some key players missing, aswell as a drop out on the day. Consett  deserved the win. It seems that the players are more focussed on their summer holidays rather than a strong finish to the end of the season. Would be a good opportunity to play some young players and blood them before next season.

Pock were undone by the pace of the West Leeds wingers.

The ladies at West Leeds were most hospitable!

I think you will find it’s a penalty if the tackling player takes the player being tackled beyond the horizontal.
