We have indeed had some departures. Two visas came to an end, so no surprise there.
One player has joined the army.
The final player, one who started the majority of his matches for us on the bench, has been offered payment, accomodation and other parts of a package to sign for York. He's been quite open about it. We have noted the details of the payment offered. As an amateur club he was told if he wants to be given money to play then unfortunately it won't be at Scarborough.
Unless of course he is talking out of his ****
I'm guessing York must not have signed the amateur declaration...fair enough it's a route they've chosen to go down.
If they have signed it and this player is telling the truth, then i hope it's not going to lead to bans for 4 officials and having to repay a floodlight grant?? I'm sure no one would be that silly.
Anyhow, thanks DAA for bringing up.
We have plenty of good players in our seconds and thirds who will be fighting for the spaces created.
There has not been a season in my memory where Scarborough don't lose players over summer... heading off to uni, visas ending etc...
