Apparently an Exodus of Biblical proportions is under way at Scarborough!
The antipodean contingent are leaving their Scarborough slave masters in search of the promised land!!

We have indeed had some departures. Two visas came to an end, so no surprise there.

One player has joined the army.

The final player, one who started the majority of his matches for us on the bench, has been offered payment, accomodation and other parts of a package to sign for York. He's been quite open about it. We have noted the details of the payment offered. As an amateur club he was told if he wants to be given money to play then unfortunately it won't be at Scarborough.

Unless of course he is talking out of his ****

I'm guessing York must not have signed the amateur declaration...fair enough it's a route they've chosen to go down.

If they have signed it and this player is telling the truth, then i hope it's not going to lead to bans for 4 officials and having to repay a floodlight grant?? I'm sure no one would be that silly.

Anyhow, thanks DAA for bringing up.

We have plenty of good players in our seconds and thirds who will be fighting for the spaces created.

There has not been a season in my memory where Scarborough don't lose players over summer... heading off to uni, visas ending etc...

Probably. York is, as we all know, where the future lies.

Pleased to hear Scarborough are backing their own rather than trying to buy success by importing all the time.
I think their colts and up and coming home grown players will welcome their change of direction!

Not sure where you are getting your info from RH. York promote within but will support disillusioned talent who are seeking development in their rugby careers apparently!

Fair point...he may develop from the bench at Scarborough to starting at York.

I am sure if he is good enough and commits to the club he will get an opportunity stake his claim for a first team place.
i am already rubbing my hands at the thought of him being given an opportunity to take to the field against Scarborough after the vitriol that has oozed out of Silver Royd since he has left the donkey wallopers!!

I'm sure top of the table York with their match fee (I'll post the messages if you please?) will be too strong for mid table amateur Scarborough.

I do genuinely wonder if you are unaware of what some of your players are being paid or if you are part of the cover up?? PM me your email address and I'll send you some correspondence which will burst your bubble (if the former)
