New Season - High Tackles shoulder charges and "appealling"
« on: September 27, 2019, 04:07:00 PM »
Lets hope our World Cup refs can become more consistent, in making decisions about high tackles, so the rest of us have some chance to see what we are supposed to be doing !......any contact with the head "starts" with a red card....only mitigating circumstances "may" reduce to a yellow.  However, anything which improves player safety must be welcomed

Also this year, players are being informed that "appealing" is not part of our game....initially a reprimand will be given, then a "stern lecture!"  a third offence becomes a penalty....so player will have to think if "gobbing off to the ref " may cost 3 points in a league game !!!...it would be a shame if a match was decided in this manner....anything to shut up a gobby scrum half must be a good thing !

enjoy your rugby !

Was at a Level 3 game last weekend. Team of three officials. Lots of appealing. No action taken.
