Wondered what other Clubs thoughts have been on the Yorkshire Silver Trophy fixtures scheduled for Saturday 2nd November which is also World Cup Final day!!! This could be a wasted thread if England are eliminated on Saturday and heaven forbid Wales get there...although an 80 point drumming by the AB's in the Final would be glorious to watch.

Nevertheless 4 options have been posed for Clubs to consider;

- Play the match as arranged on Saturday 2nd November with away teams having to suck it up and miss part of the final.

- Play the match on Sunday 3rd November (Not sure how many players you'll get on a pitch with a World Cup Winning hangover?).

- Play under floodlights midweek if you are lucky enough to have your own or can you acquire a ground with such facilities (Although this diminishes your home advantage).

- Play on Saturday 30th November which is currently a free weekend for most clubs (Will this stir the pot with the Rugby WAGS with plans having already been made?).

Thoughts???

The games have to be played on or before the 2nd November so that rules 2 of your options out

Stevo, those options come from RFU so not true. Let's see how England get on tomorrow and then speak to opposition. Nice to see rfu being flexible.

What do the rules state if you’ve had a league fixture postponed this weekend due to the rain, but aren’t involved in the National Cups? Do clubs still get the option to leave the weekend free, or will they be required to play the postponed fixture?

If a league match has been cancelled today (October 26th) the next available Saturday is November 30th. If  both teams wish to play next Saturday which is not a league Saturday owing to RWC then that is ok.
As far as National Cup Competitions are concerned, they take precedence  over league matches.

Fredsbar Are you sure?

I thought for level 5 and below, November 2 was a "Reserve Saturday" and not a "Ring-fenced Saturday".
This would make Nov 2 the next available Saturday for matches which have been postponed today.
This is from the North DOC Structured Season 2019-20.

This has been amended. Unless both clubs agree there are no League matches next Saturday.

This e mail was sent to league secretaries on 30th September

Dear All

I have received a directive from Mike Smith via Dave Clarke to forward to all League Secretaries.

Saturday 2nd November is a non play day due to the World Cup Final unless both teams wish to play.

Hi Fredsbar, does this apply to merit league games as well? Thanks
