Yorkshire Cup Competitions
« on: October 28, 2019, 09:49:46 PM »
My e mail of October 24th had a resounding outcome, with England thrashing New Zealand and Wales narrowly losing to South Africa.

As a result the Yorkshire Cup Competitions are in a state of flux!

Keighley v Goole Goole won a Double Header.

Awaiting Information
Dinnington v Northallerton
Old Rishworthian v Guisborough

Yorkshire Vase

The following clubs have received walkovers:-
Hemsworth, Ripon, Thornensians, Old Otliensians, Richmondshire, Harrogate Pythons, West Park Leeds, Ossett.

The following games are due to take place:-

Wibsey v Mosborough
Baildon v Rotherham Phoenix
Halifax Vandals v Sheffield Medicals
Bramley Phoenix v Leeds Modernians
Burley v Wensleydale
Castleford v Hessle
Knaresborough v Marist

Nestle Rowntree v Stanley Rodillians ended in a 15-15 draw last Saturday, but the referee for some reason did not allow extra time as per the regulations. The match will need to be replayed.

As to the date on which the games will be played is ‘up in the air’. Some clubs are watching RWC final at 09:00 am and are not prepared to play in the afternoon.

The rain on the weekend meant that 9 matches were not played and the next available date is November 30th.

Whilst this seems the end of matters November 30th is the first round of the National Cup Competitions when Yarnbury, Wetherby Knottingley, and Leeds Corinthians are playing in the Senior and Junior Vase which takes precedent over league matches.

Any comments?
