DARREN 'DAZ' REYNOLDS   BY ANDREW HARMAN

It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely death of Darren Reynolds our Director of Rugby.
Darren passed away peacefully yesterday following another battle with cancer.

Darren has given so much to our club and indeed the wider rugby community for many years and will be deeply missed by everyone who has had the pleasure of knowing him.

Our thoughts at this time go to his wife Sarah and his boys Josh, Tom & Ben.

We will update everyone with the funeral arrangements as soon as we have them.

The Executive Committee

Note - His funeral will be on November 14th.

Although I never came across "DAZ" the passing of anyone is always very sad. But as our game is gradually shrinking , both in terms of playing numbers and past players and volunteers passing away, where will we be without his like in say 40 years.

On behalf of all at North Ribblesdale sincere condolances to all of his family. He was obviously a good rugby man, who would no doubt have revelled in the possible world cup win in about 12 hours time for England

Also sympathy to all at Sandal as club stalwarts passing on does have an effect on people.

Darren was a true gent!

I happened to come across him as the Sandal U7 coach 14 years ago when I was coaching my lad. We would meet 4 or 5 times a year, have some great competitive games and always have a Sunday beer together.
As the lads got older Darren put a lot of time into Central rugby with his passion being to find the lad who had never been picked.
He always had the player at heart and had huge success in this area.
Later life we both sat on some of the development committees for Yorkshire still trying to make sure that the pathway was fair to all.

I was lucky to call Darren my friend,  one that that was developed through rugby alone. Sleep tight mate, RIP.

That was a lovely and heartfelt thing to say. x
