Delighted to confirm that whenever next season starts, there will be a warm welcome for all visiting players and supporters at Cross Green.

Hopefully the beginning of a great relationship and the future of Old Grovians rugby club cemented.

Great news Dan, hope the transition goes smoothly and the partnership endures well. Going to miss the banter about poo dodging though.

Dan sounds good. Reading the Otley statement, is the future no Otley 2nd and  you guys the feeder? Or you become Otley 2s? Who gets say on pitch playable etc. Is it a tennancy or a share? Plus is it long term will you move to new ground.

Cheers gents. Locked out, am positive you will find something else to take the mickey out of us for.

Lots of questions Mark.

Obviously we don't have all the answers yet as we need to suck it and see how the relationship develops.

We have asked the fixture secs to try and organise our fixtures so Otley are at home and we are away and vice versa if possible. Otley continue to run a second team with the priority for pitches availability running Otley 1s, OG, Otley 2s. We will be able to provide Otley 2s with players not selected by us to bolster their numbers. I'm not going to say anything regards Otley 2s players playing for us as that is entirely up to Otley and their coaches/dor/players to decide and did not form any part of the agreement.

We are not tenants per se but more of a share. Both clubs see this as a partnership hopefully and an opportunity to provide a pathway to a higher level of rugby for school leavers. We will very much be maintaining our view that amateur rugby is to be enjoyed, played in the right way both on and off the pitch. For the better players we welcome in who can step up then it will be a ready made fit.

We will need to think carefully about the season after of course when Otley are without a home. The hope is that we get on as clubs and people to the point where the new ground and facilities will be made available to us. We need to prove our worth to Otley and, of course, they need to make us feel welcome.

Genuinely couldn't be happier so far. The only downside is for the the first summer in 7 years I can't ring all the Otley 2s players and ask them to come join us!

Congrats OG's. Glad this issue is partly resolved, still a fair few questions to be answered though. Perhaps a daily briefing on BBC with your club executives might allay some concerns?
