Consett V Morley
Battle of the average here, neither team doing much this season but home advantage should be enough for Consett

Durham City V Pocklington
Another tricky one to call. Durham struggling but Pock aren't exactly pulling up trees. Again I'll go for home advantage and a narrow win for Durham

Ilkley/Esher V Heath
Match of the day with Ilkley benefiting from the return of 48 players who were missing last week who will all be fighting for place in the team alongside the Esher backup squad. Very tight match between two highflying sides but my instinct is that Ilkley will run away as comfortable winners.

Malton and Norton V Scarborough
Local derby so all bets are off and form goes out the window. This is home advantage V current form. (Although before last week Maltons form wasn't too shabby either). All my experience of derbies gives the home side a huge advantage so the head says.......

Old Brodleians V Moortown
The mobile kitchen of the MBH will fire up the engine (run on a combination of old ghee and diesel syphoned out of the cars of visiting supporters) and all pile in for the trip to Mount Brodleians. Battle of style between the free flowing poppadum munchers and the umpa lumpas of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Brods. I think MBH will nick this one.

Morpeth V Bradford & Bingley
Over a hundred sadly.

Cleckheaton V Driffield
See separate thread but I'll go for home victory in a close high scoring match.

BRB - I like that you have a newfound soft spot for us Balti Boys.

Morley to win by 10

Pock to just edge it

I think think the London based outfit will put 20+ on Heath

Due to BRB 2nd club being Moortown, I will return the love and pick Scarbs by over 10 points

Be a tough game up at Brods, that’s all I’m commenting on that.

Morpeth to put 50 on Bradford&Tonga

Driff to win by 10 at the Cleck Swamp

Consett vs Morley - close encounter and I think consett have to beat somebody on their own patch this year. I’m going to go with a home win!

Durham vs Pock - following the heavy defeat last week, I think Pock will control this one upfront in a tight affair and take the spoils…. Just!

Ilkley / Esher vs Heath - I would say close, however given Ilkley are the home side I’m going to say the advantage is with them.

M&N vs Scarborough - the form of Scarborough should make this a foregone conclusion, however as BRB points on this is a derby game. Despite this, Scarborough to run out comfortable winners for me.

Old Brods vs Moortown - interesting match up with two teams who play a similar brand of rugby. Moortown had a decent result last week, however with the Brods having a week off have they had chance to recuperate and find some answers to their recent poor results? I’m going to go Brods to win this one. I just can’t  see Moortown matching them should they get it right.

Morpeth vs Bees - Morpeth +50.

Cleck vs Driff - despite other big games in the league, this is the game of the day for me and one I’m extremely looking forward to going to watch at the weekend. Cleck really need to seal this one to stay in the hunt. Should Driff lose, that would mean 3 of the last 4 games with losses.
Neither team can truly afford to lose this one. Clecks big pack against Driffields fast moving style. Having said that, this one goes to Cleck for me, purely based on the home team controlling  the game up front.

Hello gents
Do not want to be too controversial on my first post on here for months. BUT.  I have a feeling that rather than face an absolute hammering that the Bees may not travel to Morpeth,  save the bus fare and put it towards paying some mercenary next season.
Will they never learn??

Let's see......it must be hard for the players who are left. It's both demoralising and possibly a tad unsafe to be on the end of such hammerings at this level every week.

I don't know much about their club....do they have a mini and junior setup?

The 7 'Pacific' names out of the 18 on their recent team sheet suggest they're going down the predictable route.

Bees just pulled out of the trip to Morpeth citing Covid....very convenient.  There'll be testing kits 'mixed up' all over the shop to satisfy regs no doubt.

Rearranged for April....the odds of it being fulfilled then? Nil I'll wager.

Dismal.

Consett v Morley - I rather fancy Consett for this. They’re due a win and the Maroons just don’t seem to be firing.

Durham City v Pocklington - Tricky. A narrow win for Pock I think, though the reverse wouldn’t surprise me.

Ilkley v Heath - I fear the conditions will favour Heath’s pack rather than Ilkley’s backs, but I have to go for a narrow Ilkley win in a high-scoring match. The entire Ilkley 18 were all born in the shadow of the Cow and Calf by the way.

Malton & Norton v Scarborough - A derby, but after last week, I’ll take Scarbs to carry on their good form.

Old Brods v Moortown - Another tricky one. Brods seem to have lost a bit of momentum and ‘town seem to have gained some. Brods by a whisker though.

Cleckheaton v Driffield - They don’t get any easier, eh ? I’d fancy Cleck if they’re at full strength, but are they ? Let’s say they are. Cleck.

Morpeth v Bees - No surprise at the blob, but how long will the dreaded C-word be acceptable as an excuse ? Ilkley at Bees next week, so I hope they’re all better by then !

Mr Shorts
Given your  recent form I doubt they will want to venture the few miles to a pounding" . However this must be difficult for morale and kepeping players loyal when things are so obviously not right. Their reputation for blowing fortunes on mercenaries is well known.
When will they try to reverse the trend.
Maybe they coUldale enter their second team into the leagues to help with fixtures.
Oops they don't really have one do they.

You'll find that for the majority of this season Bees have been fielding their 2nd XV, hence the heavy results. The amount of flack the club receives should not be reflective on the team whom the majority turn up week in week out so the club doesn't disappear. Plenty of clubs and people on this forum would probably revel in this event.

I applaud the lads who are turning up, they've never given up in any game as far as i can see, no matter the score, I know earlier in the season the club were planning on regrouping, minus the mercenaries, and trying to rebuild. I sincerely hope that happens and that the lads who've been playing don't get sick before the season is out. That's a ssutainable plan to sort thr futire of a club we all enjoy playing at.

Ilkley 8.10 Heath. A dreadful, scrappy game with some seriously bewildering  officiating.

Heath’s pack did the business for them, particularly in the first half, but in a scoreless second half, Ilkley got back in the game, had two ‘tries’ disallowed and missed a straightforward penalty.

I wasn't at Malton but hear they were worthy winners after  playing the muddy conditions well...
