🏉Coach Wanted: Hornsea Rugby Union Club🏉

About us:
We are a community grassroots club that has been in existence since 1923. Last season was our first season back in the Yorkshire Leagues, after three years in the East Yorkshire Merit League, and we finished a creditable 7th place in Yorkshire Division Four.

We are looking to consolidate our position in Yorkshire Division 4 with the hope to progress further in the near future. We currently operate one senior team, and through a summer recruitment drive, hope to increase this to possibly running an occasional 2nd XV, we also have a vibrant Ladies Section and an ever growing Mini / Junior Section. Our club is community based and looks to get local people and business involved wherever possible as while our rugby is important, at Hornsea, the social side is a big thing too.

We are offering a challenge to any Coach who believes they can help develop our passionate squad and unlock its’ potential. With the average age in our current 1st XV around 20-26, we are a young, mobile team with the ability to play open rugby but also the bulk and power to hold our own in the tight game. We have two pitches and a floodlit training area, with modern changing facilities and a renowned clubhouse bar.

What we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum qualification at UKCC Level 2 (although for the right candidate without qualifications, the club would organize RFU training) with good previous experience as well as being willing to commit to train our senior squad players at least once per week and to run the show on match days. We require a coach / player coach to help improve skills, gameplans and performances.

As Senior Coach you would be in charge of all training / match days and would be tasked with developing the squad on both a team and individual basis by running sessions and drills which focus on improving weaknesses highlighted week by week as well as working towards long-term progress. Team selection would also be a role, supported by the captain, vice captain and a committee member.

We are willing to offer expenses and sponsorship for further rugby coaching qualifications.
