Went down for the 1st time in years to to my old club cas today to see what all the hype being touted was about and to see if they really are still dishing out the envelopes

Wasnt surprised to see the usual brown envelope recievee that’s usually gone by xmas was there, though slightly more of him than previously, was in attendance and he still was as poor as usual, why they persist is beyond me

What i was surprised at was the standard, that what can only be described as very poor from both teams and was light years away from the yorkshire 4 fixture I attended last week

Clear as to why they called off the fixture last week due to a 2nd team stag do as the side that turned out today was mostly those guys

In today’s performance neither team will struggle to bother the top half of the table by the end of the year

Made my first venture down to watch Knotts vs thirsk and all I can say is god help Yorkshire 3!
I thought Knotts totally controlled the game even in the 2nd half when they gave some soft penalties away they were still in control and the score line represents the trusty Knotts defence, as solid as ever. Was good to see the team still being inclusive having the gay beachy back in the team and one thing I do want to say is how the knotts hooker manager to ankle tap and trip the thirsk player is somewhat of a miracle….the locomotive is speeding up CHOO CHOO

Caught the second half of the Knottingley Vs Thirsk game yesterday.

Knottingley had built up a good lead in the first and then showed how to defend it in the second with some stern but sometimes last ditch tackles. Thirsk had the best player on the pitch, their 23 who looks a real handful and will trouble a lot of teams this season who don't or wont show the willingness to defend like Knottingley. Thirsk on their second half showing will finish mid table comfortably.

A great atmosphere/buzz at the club, a full clubhouse with families, ex players and coaches alike supporting their team together. Drinking at the bar after the game was nice to see with the players putting a few quid back into the club; always a good mantra for a club to thrive. Good to see a large crowd, including a fair few knowledgeable rugby folk from Thirsk.
