Can anyone please post and let me know the cost of your bus trips. We at Ribb are used to having buses because of where we are, However the cost has risen so far this season by an average of £200 per trip. We are looking at alternatives such as trains but not many grounds are within a five minute walk of a station.
Would love to know your comments.
Also how are clubs managing rampant energy bills. We are lucky in that we fixed for next two years but the current market price, if not fixed is terrifying for club treasurers.

Absolutely, average cost is around £600 , unfortunately we have to use cars most of the time and a bus trip is a special treat ie coming to yours.
Clubs carnt afford them as it’s only going to get worse with the cost in fuel . I think you can apply to the RFU for support in the cost. how much and how many hoops you have to jump through to get it is an unknown.
The only thing I can suggest is clubs utilise the bus and take 1st and 2nds to make worth your while and then return the fixtures so both clubs feel the benefits of a full club house.

We use JB travel and a bus from Garforth-Ilkley-North Ribb Return is £650 for our trip in November to yourselves.

We are looking at £700 to go from Keighley to clubs like Hullensians, Beverley and Dinnington. Which gets the lads a stop on the way back, getting back to the club for 9pm.

The restructured season hasn’t made any difference to the amount of bus trips for us, you could argue we have proportionally more bus trips given we have two less teams.

As was explained to the RFU lackies but they refused to listen, sadly.
